A woman on my flight yesterday switched seats with her husband because their toddler wouldn’t stop crying. The second she sat down alone, she closed her eyes for maybe 30 seconds. Just resting. Not sleeping. When the husband walked past with the kid later, he laughed and said loudly, “Must be nice to finally get a break from doing nothing.” A few people chuckled. She laughed too. But something about it felt off because for the entire flight she had been: holding the baby, packing snacks, cleaning spills, walking him down the aisle, missing her own meal trying to calm him down… while the husband watched a movie with headphones on. And honestly I think that’s why so many women are exhausted. Not because they’re doing everything alone. But because they’re doing everything while someone else calls it “nothing.”

Patriarchy doesn’t just control women it trains women to police other women.

Stop infantilising yourself for males. You are an adult woman, act like it. Pay your bills, handle your shit. Stop waiting for anyone to save you. It’s ok to be babied by your partner, however, you shouldn’t crumble when he’s not there. STAND UP

They didn’t burn witches. They murdered women. Independent women. Assertive women. Intelligent women. Women who refused to be quiet. Women who refused to roll over. Women who refused to submit.

This is the international pedophile uncle greeting. Little girls all over the world know this sign of a dirty old man trying to diddle you.

I abhor the way our society makes it so difficult for women to imagine their lives without marriage.

I’m quickly turned off by men who have negative views about women-even if those views aren’t directed at me. There’s something about that kind of mindset that just doesn’t sit right with me.

We’re obsessed with the idea that poor people might take more than they need, but we rarely question why some wealthy people are never satisfied with what they already have.

There's nothing dysfunctional about women.

As a woman I am extremely aware that the reason I have my rights is because a woman somewhere got up, got MOUTHY, organised, raged, made herself INCREDIBLY inconvenient until things changed for the better for all of us. Which is precisely why I see women who uphold the patriarchy as traitors to all women.
