Apparently, the Persian Gulf is providing a real-time test of the notion that the A-10 is so imprecise that it couldn't hit the broad side of Utah. They're hunting and killing speedboats in the Gulf, which means they most certainly can hunt and kill tanks. This loitering, monitoring, and prosecuting mission is something the F-35 certainly can't do, while the Warthog can. I never argued the A10 can do the same job cheaper, in fact that was what I ended with, in case your reading comprehension is poor.

The A-10 indeed, CAN have its uses, however the idea that other aircraft can't also do its job is nonsense. A-10 can do it cheaper, but that's it.

In the spaces I frequent it has been. Every time I even mention the A-10, I get guys in my comments telling me it was inaccurate and useless. There was this whole YouTube vid. So yeah, maybe not within the offices of the 5-Walled Peter Principle Pen, but out here, people have been bothering me with it for a while.

@planefag So far there's zero proof behind the $1 billion claim and everyone just parroting that article. I read that the radar was originally $25 million but upgrades to the site have run the cost up as a whole to $500 million. So anywhere between $25 million and $1 billion is a huge gap.
