@Huttoneer @sarobertsonca Yeah, pretty much. But you can't discount Carney's genuine appeal. He is like Canada itself - stable, highly skilled, and quietly competent. Once Canadians saw and heard Carney, it was over for PP. The contrast in their comportment is jarring. We really dodged a bullet.

So liberals were going to vote for him but then the man who had been advising the man they now hated was installed and they changed their minds. Even though Carney was promising exactly the same agenda as Trudeau. Pro China, pro Net Zero, pro increased public spending , pro mass immigration and pro childhood transitioning . Doesn't seem to be based on policies or even any thought just vibes.

@Huttoneer @sarobertsonca PP's support was due to anti-Trudeau sentiment. Many had grown tired of JT after 3 terms as PM. As soon as an alternative was presented, Poilievre plunged in the polls, lost the election, and lost even his own seat. Since then his popularity has further declined. Sad.

If the world gives Israel sympathy for civilians injured by an Iranian airstrike over the weekend in a war Israel started, by Friday they'll be using that sympathy to justify nuking Tehran. I don't enjoy holding this position. It goes against every natural human impulse inside me. But Israel, by its nature, has made it the only responsible position to hold. History has clearly established that the world was wrong to give Israel sympathy for October 7. The correct and moral thing to have done would have been for everyone to say "That's what you get for being a murderous apartheid state," and then sanction Israel into the Stone Age until they dismantled their abusive ethnonationalist regime. That would have been the right position for the world to take. And that's how we need to be with Israel going forward. No sympathy. No support. We've got to treat them the same way you'd treat a malignant narcissist who solicits sympathy and then weaponizes it at every opportunity. To do otherwise would be irresponsible. It's just not safe.

Would Pierre Poilievre win an election today? Probably not. Doesn't make him a bad leader. It means many Canadians are still influenced by government-funded media such as the CBC.
