You can configure the refresh rate for banner ads shown in your app from the AdMob dashboard, and personally I think refreshing them every 30 seconds is the optimal setting and probably the most profitable. When you set it to Google optimization, the ad often does not refresh for quite a long time. That makes me wonder whether there is really any point in keeping the same ad on screen for a long time if users are not tapping it. If a user does not tap, it usually means they are not interested. At least for me, if an ad interests me, I tap it right away. Of course, depending on the app, users may not always be able to tap immediately. For example, if an app is used for an average of two minutes, you can potentially show the user four different ads during that time. Compared with showing only one ad, that seems far more likely to generate higher revenue. Banner ads tend to be undervalued because their eCPM is lower than full-screen formats such as interstitial ads. However, banners can remain visible on the screen at all times, which makes them a core foundation of ad revenue.

I've the same problem, i don't know why! My EU accounts are doing pretty good but US ones with VPN are shit. I was posting slideshows for one app a few month ago and my US account had 1-2 posts with 1k views and around 20-25 posts with 150-200 views. I tried various hooks but never got any decent progress...

After 4 weeks of procrastination, I’ve finally set up my TikTok marketing agent and started posting slideshows for one of my apps. I built a semi-automated pipeline: I send ready-to-go images with captions into my Telegram bot, and it takes around 40–50 seconds to create a single post. I don’t want to fully automate it yet to avoid a potential shadowban. Started by testing a few different hooks so I can find a winning one and double down on it. I’m using 2 old warmed-up accounts. The one in the screenshot is my EU account (no VPN). My US account (with VPN) isn’t performing very well unfortunately, only around 100 views on 2 posts, so I might need to create a fresh one and warm it up. The plan is to test a couple of apps with 1–2 accounts for each, pick the best-performing one, and double down on it.

Last week I had a bunch of viral posts, giving me millions of impressions 😅 It is quite thrilling tbh and you get this dopamine rush seeing all the numbers rise up, but again this dopamine is quite distracting from my goals of building banger apps and games

@ProductHunt just gave Product of the Day 🥇 to my silly vibecoded app I made for fun. Moreover, today marks exactly 10 days since SlapMac went live, which made me $20,700 in gross revenue. I'm still gasping at the screen 🫠 Many may think it's another absurd and lucky overnight success, but while it might seem that way, it wasn't. Let me explain. My story: Back in 2018 I was just a backend corp. guy who stumbled on @levelsio and his book MAKE, and something genuinely broke open in my brain. I wanted that life so badly that I went full obsessive: every @starter_story video, every @marclou marketing technique dissected and noted. Tweets from @tdinh_me were my inspo too. I started doing my small experiments (like @FpvBuddy): my playground to learn frontend, BaaS and the world of indie such as requesting payments, marketing & SEO. Then I started meeting people in the space: builders in Southeast Asia, then in Amsterdam. The kind of delusional, hungry optimists who bet everything on themselves. Those conversations changed how I think about making money online. Recently I even got my whole X profile roasted by @robj3d3, which was equal parts painful and clarifying haha, thanks dude. @transitive_bs also said something that stuck with me around that time: "what is blocking you from doing this full time. How can we make that happen?" I was about to give out with content making and tweeting when I met @did0f and his way of teaching tech through video format truly inspired me to keep going. And so, a few months later I made a video for fun, reviewing a repo that makes your laptop moan when you slap it, and things moved pretty damn quickly from there. 24 hours of hacking with the Hackadam crew later, there was a real app, written from scratch at the speed of light thanks to AI. Is SlapMac a business? No. But it's the kick that starts one. I'm done accumulating knowledge and ready to build for real this time. Overnight success is very often a lie. Mine took 6 years of learnings and a single slap 👋💨

Android users are less likely to purchase apps. But they are willing to watch ads if the service is free — and they actually like it. If someone doesn’t like ads, they can always upgrade to premium. However, I never include ads in my iOS apps. It ruins the user experience, and most iOS users dislike ads. So if you have a good Android app with solid traffic, it’s much better to offer it for free with ads. My app is AI-based, so it costs me to run. But when users watch ads, those costs are covered. And here’s the interesting part — so far, I’ve earned $20 from ads, while it has cost me less than $2 to provide the service. So it’s definitely worth it. And you might not believe this, but I earned that with fewer than 500 total downloads.
