Reform needs 5 headline grabbing, positive policies, that people can see benefits them. We know immigration and Net Zero is destroying us, but voters need to vote for a positive as well, not just the removal of a negative. Abolish the TV licence. This saves a family £180 a year. Raise the Income Tax Personal Allowance to £20,000. Raise the 40% tax band to £100,000. Cut fuel duty by 50%. Explain how it currently works, in all its gory detail and then abolish inheritance tax entirely. How do we pay for all of this? Cuts. The sums we waste are vast and we can stop wasting it. If other parties try and say it’s un costed, point out how much they have borrowed recently and that they clearly cannot be trusted to know how to cost anything. If Reform puts money back in people’s pockets, they will vote for them.

This is going to come across as really sexist but I say it as a woman myself, so maybe listen rather than hyperventilate with rage straight off. I’ve said, and explained many times (with statistical evidence) why I think our issues in the U.K. medical workplace stem from too many girls at medical school. In brief: 2/3rds of applicants are girls. 2/3rds sitting the UCAT are girls. Almost 2/3rds at many medical schools are girls. Boys statistically do better at the UCAT but proportionately fewer want to be Doctors -why? My son is applying and I am on a Facebook page for medical school applicants. Almost everyday there are posts from worried parents about the mental health of their daughters going through the process. I am not kidding you, my son had 4 interviews, is sitting on two offers, has his A level grades to obtain in a few weeks time and is so laid back he is almost horizontal! He has just left for a party and is off to the football tomorrow. Every time I see one of these anxious parent posts about their anxious daughter I wonder how on earth they will cope as a doctor??? The answer is: They probably won’t. Give them a couple of years and they will have quit. Hand on heart I don’t think I’ve seen one post about an anxious son. Yet it’s sexist to suggest that there are too many girls at medical school, all competing for the same family friendly specialties… At some point the medical Profession needs to open their eyes to the underlying issue. 🙄🤦‍♀️🫣 Bring on the rage replies…
