@Blerdrotic @Acyn Because the whole segment as per the news title was about Hasan Piker. She was merely asking why we're still talking about him.

Everyone should read what the Israeli military did to journalist Amal Khalil today in this minute-by-minute account as the international community watched in horror. First the text messages threatening her then trapping her and a photographer in a house then bombing them then firing on international rescue crews, all with the world watching in real time. There are no words left for the horrors that U.S. political leaders are enabling.

🚨BREAKING🚨Israeli forces are now issuing direct death threats to Lebanese journalists on WhatsApp as well as besieging them. Al-Akhbar correspondent @AmalKhalil83, who has been documenting the devastation across southern Lebanon, received these messages from an Israeli number (+972 54-869-5113): “We know where you are… we will reach you… leave if you want to keep your head on your shoulders.” First message: “Alright, my lady, you are moving from one village to another, but you still haven’t gone to enough funerals or hospitals. There is a lot of grief & sorrow behind that smile you try to show on Twitter. Let’s see what your answer will be… Is your house still standing, Anisa (Miss)? I hope so?” Second message: “We know where you are & we will reach you when the time comes. Even though you are not important to us, in the end we will take everything into account. I suggest you flee to Qatar or somewhere else if you want to keep your head connected to your shoulders :)” This is not intimidation. This is the IDF issuing an explicit death threat to a journalist for covering their crimes. At the same time, Israeli forces besieged Amal al-Khalil & journalist Zeinab Faraj in al-Tayri, blocking the Red Cross & Lebanese Army from reaching them. They were in a delegate vehicle when a drone strike hit a vehicle behind them, killing two people. Both journalists were trapped at the scene. Amal contacted the Red Cross before her phone died. Her last message confirmed she was still safe. Rescue teams still cannot reach the two besieged journalists, Amal al-Khalil & Zeinab Faraj. They are just 500 meters away, but the road has been cut off by an Israeli strike, according to Red Cross paramedics. This is targeting journalists in real time. This is a crime. Pure state terrorism against the press.

Says the guy who also shamelessly claimed in the show that Israel was attacked in June 1967, a brazen, demonstrable lie. As for UNSC Resolution 487, which calls for Israel to urgently place its nuclear facilities under IAEA controls, it *is* binding under international law. That's just a fact. You're getting confused with enforcement, which is what Chapter VII refers to. I didn't say a word about Chapter VII, you just lied in this tweet by attributing that to me. I said a UNSC Security Council resolution is binding under international law. That's a fact. The enforcement part is irrelevant to my point. So, back to the issue: why won't you admit you're the only country with nuclear weapons and why won't you allow in IAEA inspectors as required by the UN Security Council?
Doron Spielman@DoronSpielman

Mehdi Hasan can’t stop lying. He just lied on air that Israel’s nuclear program is bound by UN Security Council Resolution 487 under Chapter VII, the only framework that creates binding enforcement. Resolution 487 literally does not invoke “Chapter VII”. You know which does? Resolution 1737, which requires the Islamic Republic of Iran to suspend its nuclear activities. He’s understandably upset Israel and the US stopped his Islamist friends getting nukes, but that’s no excuse to lie to me, to Piers, and most importantly to the audience. @piersmorgan, fact check your guests. Your audience deserves better. @mehdirhasan

This is a point @DanaBashCNN might want to consider, unless everything she's doing is actually just cynical (and incredibly ineffective) advocacy for Israel: "Ironically, one of the things that has annoyed me about Hasan is how constantly he goes out of his way to condemn anti-Semitism and talk about its evils even when it's not relevant to his point (and even when its existence is dubious). I get why he does it, but this insanely stupid two-week lynch mob proves that if you're an influential critic of Israel, you'll be widely branded an anti-Semite no matter how much you not only avoid anti-Semitism but aggressively denounce it, as he does."
Glenn Greenwald@ggreenwald

We're in the middle of our most dangerous war in at least two decades -- fueled by her precious Israel -- and CNN's Dana Ruth Schwartz Bash is still prattling on about Hasan Piker and his supposed insensitivity towards Israel and the suffering of her people. Ironically, one of the things that has annoyed me about Hasan is how constantly he goes out of his way to condemn anti-Semitism and talk about its evils even when it's not relevant to his point (and even when its existence is dubious). I get why he does it, but this insanely stupid two-week lynch mob proves that if you're an influential critic of Israel, you'll be widely branded an anti-Semite no matter how much you not only avoid anti-Semitism but aggressively denounce it, as he does.

The White House asked Pakistan to mediate the ceasefire talks, and Pakistan’s PM announced: “I am pleased to announce that the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America, along with their allies, have agreed to an immediate ceasefire everywhere including Lebanon and elsewhere, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.” Israel has carried out large scale massacres in Lebanon since, and Trump has apparently approved of this. Iran saying the strait is now closed again as a result of this treachery. Has there ever been a pair of countries less trustworthy than the U.S. and Israel?
Shehbaz Sharif@CMShehbaz

With the greatest humility, I am pleased to announce that the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America, along with their allies, have agreed to an immediate ceasefire everywhere including Lebanon and elsewhere, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY. I warmly welcome the sagacious gesture and extend deepest gratitude to the leadership of both the countries and invite their delegations to Islamabad on Friday, 10th April 2026, to further negotiate for a conclusive agreement to settle all disputes. Both parties have displayed remarkable wisdom and understanding and have remained constructively engaged in furthering the cause of peace and stability. We earnestly hope, that the ‘Islamabad Talks’ succeed in achieving sustainable peace and wish to share more good news in coming days! @realDonaldTrump @JDVance @SecRubio @SteveWitkoff @SEPeaceMissions @drpezeshkian @mb_ghalibaf @araghchi

The Iran–U.S. Ceasefire terms are clear and explicit: the U.S. must choose—ceasefire or continued war via Israel. It cannot have both. The world sees the massacres in Lebanon. The ball is in the U.S. court, and the world is watching whether it will act on its commitments.

An Alternative Explanation
@mehdirhasan @TayorUyghur 1. Did Russia illegally invade Ukraine? Yes. 2. Did Palestine illegally invade Israel? Yes. (October 7th was, undeniably, an illegal attack). Is everything else "noise" here as well, Mehdi? Is Israel "the victim"? Or MAYBE ignoring nuance and calling it "noise" is dishonest.

Mehdi seems lost his moral compass: 1.Ukraine did not invade another country—Russia invaded Ukraine. 2.Ukraine is fighting for its national survival, not to preserve a regime. 3.Ukraine has not sponsored terrorist groups in the Middle East, unlike Iran. 4.Ukraine has not attacked Gulf states, unlike Iran. 5.Ukraine does not impose a religious doctrine on its citizens, while Iran does. 6.Ukraine has not killed tens of thousands of its own citizens for protesting, as Iran has. 7.Ukraine does not punish women over their choice of dress, while Iran does. 8.Ukrainian leadership has not called for the destruction of other countries, unlike Iranian leadership call “death to America” 9.Iran has supplied Shahed drones to Russia, which have been used to kill Ukrainians. Ukrainians have right to defend themselves against Iranian regime who supplied Russians with weapons
Mehdi Hasan@mehdirhasan

It's astonishing that you, a world leader who many respected for standing up to an illegal attack on your country, now support an illegal attack on another country. It completely kills your credibility. Right now. Iran is Ukraine. You may not like to hear that but that is a fact
