As part of the celebrations marking the Incorporation Day of the Government e Marketplace (GeM), a workshop on the theme “Accelerating Defence Efficiency through Digital Transformation” was organised with active participation from officials of the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, DGAFMS, DGMS DRDO, BRO, Indian Coast Guard and various DPSUs. The workshop focused on deliberations relating to process improvements, technological interventions and enhancement of user experience on the GeM platform, with the aim of better aligning the system with the operational, logistical and procurement requirements of the Defence Services. Discussions were also held on the roadmap for GeM and key functionalities and other digital procurement initiatives intended to enhance efficiency, flexibility, transparency and ease of procurement.
