Some advance toward greatness, others return to it. We Indians do both. Congratulations, @PawanKChandana and the entire @SkyrootA team on the great success of Vikram-1, making India only the third country in the world after USA and China with private orbital launch capability.

What happened: NEET-UG 2026 (India’s medical entrance exam, over 2.27 million candidate, was held on May 3, 2026. It was cancelled on May 12 after investigators found a pre-circulated guess paper overlapped heavily with the actual questions — evidence of a leak. Three NTA-appointed teachers have been named as the alleged architects of the leak (chemistry, biology, physics papers), and CBI has arrested 13 people so far. A re-test was held June 21. Why the suicides, given most victims weren’t involved in the leak: From reporting on individual cases, it isn’t guilt over cheating — it’s the cancellation itself landing on students who had nothing to do with it Wasted effort, reset to zero. Many had studied for months or years, sat the exam feeling it went well, then were told it counted for nothing and they had to do it all again — with no control over the reason. Acute, sudden shock. Police in multiple cases described the trigger as immediate distress right after the cancellation announcement, not a slow-building fear of getting caught. Compounding financial/family pressure. Several cases involved families who’d sacrificed heavily (a kiln worker’s son, a family in a “poverty escape via medicine” story) — the cancellation felt like it wasted not just the student’s effort but their family’s sacrifice. Distrust in the system. Coaching institute educators reported having to run counseling sessions because students no longer trusted a retest would be clean either — so the fear was less “will I get caught” and more “will this happen to me again.” Retest-specific dread. One 17-year-old died hours before the retest was set to start, suggesting anticipatory anxiety about facing the whole ordeal a second time, not fear of punishment. No, this doesn’t look like fear of being caught for buying a leaked paper. The people who bought leaked papers are a separate, much smaller group facing CBI investigation. The suicides were largely innocent aspirants crushed by the abrupt invalidation of their effort and the uncertainty/distrust that followed. This is a heavy topic — if it’s touching close to home for you or someone you know, I’m glad to talk through it or point you toward support resources. Cockroaches on the road not acceptable. They disrupt daily life, they bring in unscrupulous elements with them. This is an old unhealed wound which requires other measures to heal.

Sam that reply of your was from 33% pass marks candidate. Refine your self and understand my tweet. Anyway I will respond. Paper leaks is an old wound, not new. Greedy people want to make quick buck out of it. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has since publicly accepted responsibility for the deaths and blamed the implicated NTA teachers. This is a heavy topic — if it’s touching close to home for you or someone you know, I’m glad to talk through it and preparing a tweet especially for your cursing.

Sabeer Bhatia — every single day, another anti-India tweet. India’s government, its people, its governance, all of it, on repeat. None of it will make you mayor, like @NYCMayor who cursed India repeatedly. Nor you are qualified to fight @DanielLurie for San Francisco post. You already admitted it won’t make you PM of India either. And it’s definitely not starting any whirlpool in India. Nobody’s shaking. So what’s the actual payout? A few cents of engagement? You built Hotmail and sold it for millions. Now you’re running Hotcoin, waiting on a buyer. And instead of closing that deal, you’re farming outrage for pocket change. A tweet takes a minute, fair enough. But it’s a minute not spent on the thing that actually needs saving.

India’s greatest constraint isn’t a lack of talent-it’s a limiting mental model. When people see the world primarily through communal identities-Hindu, Muslim, or otherwise-instead of ideas, innovation suffers. The IT industry shares some responsibility. Too many companies have optimized for billing hours and short-term profits instead of encouraging bold thinking, original research, and breakthrough ideas. A nation of 1.4 billion people should be leading the world in intellectual innovation, not just providing outsourced services.

It is indeed alarming. But you never shared US figures? Always first US from your side. India: ~177,000 road accident deaths in 2024 → ~485/day. 1 death every ~3 minutes. USA: ~39,250 road accident deaths in 2024 (dropping to ~36,640 in 2025) → ~105–108/day. 1 death every ~13 minutes India’s road death toll is roughly 4x higher than the US in absolute terms. And since India’s population is also about 4x the US, the per-capita risk is comparable rather than dramatically worse. The original “4 people die every minute” claim doesn’t match either country’s road-accident data. it’s off by a wide margin in both cases.

The most disturbing statistic is that one person dies every 4 minutes. That is unacceptable.

Educating RITA again. Vietnam’s “miracle” is Samsung, Foxconn, and Korean/Japanese/Chinese capital assembling components on Vietnamese soil for re-export — a China+1 tariff dodge, not an organic industrial base. Strip the foreign-invested sector out and Vietnam’s domestic economy runs a trade deficit. Fine strategy for a small country. Not a model. India isn’t optimizing for export share — it’s optimizing for a 1.4B-person internal market. Exports are 21% of India’s GDP by design, not failure. And your chart conveniently drops services, where India isn’t catching up, it’s top-8 globally, the exact kind of asymmetric leverage (talent, not tonnage) that built the fortune you’re tweeting from. Compare export share alone and Luxembourg “beats” the US too. Meaningless metric, stripped of context — and you know better. If the real question is “why hasn’t India built more manufacturing scale,” that’s worth asking. But that’s not the question you asked. You asked it in a way engineered to make 1.4 billion people look small.

@HMOIndia The government has finally identified cockroaches on a massive scale. Immediate pest control is now an emergency. These pests are out to devour India from within. Before they infest every corner, they must be exterminated — no mercy. They breed faster than lies in election season. Time to fumigate the system.
