I hold very strong opinions about most things, but I am not an absolutist. I always leave room for a difference in opinion, change in course, reflection. I am willing to unlearn bias, understand ‘why’, see people clearly, & reject stereotypes. Life is not a straight line.

@TheFutbolZoneX Gary Neville’s runs his Stupid mouth like a river .. Endrick did what he was supposed to do.. he stretched the defense and took attention from Vinicius opening up the opportunities Vinni got in the second half. He wasnt playing his usual aggressive game.

🚨 Gary Neville Defends Ancelotti's Handling of Endrick 🗣️: "This is exactly why top managers like Carlo Ancelotti don't make decisions based on social media pressure. Every week people ask, 'Why isn't Endrick starting?' Then he gets his opportunity, and suddenly you understand what the manager has been seeing every single day in training. Football is ruthless. It's one thing to complain about sitting on the bench; it's another thing entirely to justify a place when you're finally given the chance. The best players seize those moments. They demand to stay in the team with their performances. Managers don't bench talented players for fun. They bench them because, at that moment, they believe someone else gives the team a better chance of winning. Today was a reminder that selection isn't about hype or potential—it's about delivering when the spotlight is on. Sometimes the manager is right all along."

Slavery is such an interesting subject especially when you zoom out of the US (and their very specific way of speaking about slavery). Very few nations of the world have acknowledged and engage with their history of slavery the way the US has. In places like Nigeria with a more recent history of slavery, no one even acknowledges that slavery had or has any effect on the history, culture and relationships between cultures and people. In Sokoto Caliphate for example, although the British outlawed slavery around 1901, full abolition in the region wasn't completed until the 1930s. Paul Lovejoy even records slave brokers — who had themselves formerly been concubines — procuring young girls for the purpose of sale into slavery, with slave concubinage still being a functioning institution in northern Nigeria as late as 1988! For the roughly 30 emirates that make up the Sokoto Caliphate, there is not a single emir who is not a direct descendant of slave holders. Yet Nigeria, especially northern Nigeria treats slavery like just another forgettable historical fact. (And oh, I am not one of those who thinks "racialised chattel slavery" was worse than other types of slavery. I think the creation of hierarchy when it comes to slavery is silly and quite frankly disrespectful to others who are dealing with their own history of slavery. In Sokoto for example, while the legal framework was different from American racial chattel slavery, slaves had no legal standing to bring complaints against their masters, abuse could occur with little consequence, manumission was uncommon, and most slaves remained enslaved for life. All slavery involves the fundamental denial of human freedom and dignity. In fact Sokoto practiced things not as commonly seen in the US system, like forced castration.)
Clash Report@clashreport

Obama: It is possible for me to be a great admirer of George Washington and also acknowledge he was a slaveholder. And that does not negate his greatness. That simply acknowledges that there is a profound, deep flaw in these Founding Fathers, who were also geniuses and gave us these tools. Which is true of all of us, right? It's true of every president. We're this mixed bag. We've got contradictions and embody the country's contradictions. Source: MS NOW

Sometimes it’s about your attitude mate. When it comes to skin color players like Diatta and Pathe Ciss from Senegal are more darker than you and from Africa but no one seems to care about them but it’s always you. That means you have an attitude problem which you must take the first step to correct. We love you and support you and we will not tolerate any kind of discrimination. so try to correct that first and leave the rest to us. We will deal with those racist bitches ❤️

Did Ancelotti actually watched this guy before selecting him for the World Cup or he just looked at his stats? I understand his profile is different from Joao Pedro and less technical, but he is not even clinical as a box striker or poacher

Another tactical disasterclass by this man in a winnable knockout game, going ultra defensive against Brazil and hoping to absorb the pressure for 40+ mins, despite having one of the tournament’s best pressing teams. He has failed his country once again by not properly platforming this wonderful set of players.

If Ancelotti's 'no tactics, not much running, just vibes' approach can go on to win a World Cup as well as five European Cups then everybody who works in serious football analysis should be banned from the game the world over.
Daniel Austin@_Dan_Austin

Really enjoying this game because Japan are among the most tactically and physically switched on international sides I can recall watching, while Brazil without the ball look like a gang of middle-aged HR officers playing five-a-side at the Pitz the week after New Year.

@GhostofZevon @rwilliams1947 lol it’s so easy to see why many fail. One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. In game management is a genius ability few coaches have.

@rwilliams1947 To be fair, pumping balls into the box because you can’t play through or around ain’t genius. It’s easy to reference history as a reason for current state. Japan lost the game. Brazil are ordinary. Take your Euro blinkers off.

@AfshinPulse @rwilliams1947 No. Many coaches gesticulate run around the touchline and act like they have some magic that is making the players player better than they can. This is the. Modern LinkedIn style football management. Ancelotti doesn’t do all of that and so they think he does nothing.

@rwilliams1947 Isn’t that exactly what every manager does? Select the starting XI, assign their tasks, let them do their thing, and make adjustments when things go sideways. Did he expect Ancelotti to stand on the sidelines with a whip?

Ancelotti gets a bit wound up (as much as he physically can) when all his success is attributed to being merely a manager of egos. That game a good example of his other qualities; proactive substitutions and in-game tactical flexibility.
