DeSantis and Rubio should run together for 2028. Say what you will about DeSantis, but if the whole country was run like Florida we would be exponentially better off. But someone just needs to take away his silly high heel boots, just embrace being a short king.

@PolitPaige @abs0luteknower I don't know why we want him to argue/interpret the law right now. He can do it after we try to fix this country. It would be a waste and makes more sense to have his expertise elsewhere. It is getting pushed a lot and it's mainly coming from the weird right.

@abs0luteknower Trump seems interested in offering him some kind of position. AG is still only temporarily filled. DeSantis is an excellent constitutional scholar and a buzzsaw in getting things done, so he'd fit either. Alito & Thomas are aging.

I am torn. DeSantis is a brilliant mind. I have met him, heard him lecture - there are few who are his match intellectually - which is why he belongs on the Supreme Court. On the other hand, he is the most effective manager of a large bureaucracy that I have seen in my lifetime. For instance, I could see him being an excellent Vice President pick in 2028. That talent, which could really help the USA for decades to come - would be wasted, if he was on the Supreme Court.

@FischerKing64 If the American people would just vote for competence and policies, none of that stuff would matter. But what I have learned during the last primary is they want to be entertained. Just entertained. That is what matters most to them.

If Ron DeSantis wants to be on the Supreme Court - he should get it. If he wants to be Attorney General - he should get that. If he wants to run for POTUS - he should do that. But he should run on a platform of brutal competence, be himself - not try to fake smile or be ‘edgy.’

Governor DeSantis didn't have a supermajority until his second term. And, there would not have been a GOP supermajority without his efforts. Moreover, simply having a GOP supermajority is not a guarantee that conservative laws will be passed. True leadership is indispensable.
