#BREAKING Sr Adv Mukul Rohatgi mentions a rape case of a four year old girl child Rohatgi: This is a horrific case. She was sent to the magistrate court. There is no arrest or securing the site. No cctv taken. This was in Gurugram. The child recorded everything. Not a thing happened. They came to me yesterday and I prepared Article 32 plea. Remove gurugram police. They have not done anything. A message has to go from the highest court. Household maids are involved.

Dear @RahulGandhi ji, I am writing this as a member of TVK and a citizen who still believes in the power of democracy. You have been traveling across India saying that the Constitution must be protected at all costs. But today, I want to ask you, Does that Constitution not apply to the people of Tamil Nadu? Our leader Thalapathy Vijay's film, #JanaNayagan, is being targeted and blocked. It is very clear to everyone that both the State and Central governments are misusing their power to stop this movie. They are using the Censor Board (CBFC) as a shield to play dirty politics. They are doing this because they are afraid. They are afraid of the change TVK is bringing. They are afraid of a leader who speaks the truth to the people. Is this the democracy we are living in? If a film cannot be released because it questions the system, then where is our freedom of speech? You speak against the misuse of power by the ruling party at the Center, but here in Tamil Nadu, we see the same power being used to crush a new political voice. I am posting this letter publicly because the youth of Tamil Nadu are watching. We are not just fans, we are citizens who want a fair system. We are tired of these old political games where the powerful try to silence anyone who stands up against them. Rahul Ji, as the Leader of the Opposition, we want to know if you will stand with us against this injustice. Democracy is not just for the big parties; it belongs to every citizen. We want justice for Jana Nayagan. We want our rights back!! Regards, Premkumar Moorthy(MBA) A Concerned Indian Citizen @TVKVijayHQ @actorvijay @priyankagandhi @INCIndia @kharge @kcvenugopalmp

Calls #TVK as ',Thuya Sakthi' (clean force) Its a clear strategy to exhibit him as an alternate to @AIADMKOfficial and position himself in the lineage of MGR and Jayalalithaa. #Tamilnadupolitics

Just two weeks left for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of poll rolls to end, Tamil Nadu is far from meeting its target of enumerating 6.4 crore voters. As of Wednesday, only 1.1 crore enumeration forms, a mere 17%, were uploaded to the ECI portal. The state distributed 6.1 crore forms (95%), but Booth Level Officers (BLOs) say collecting filled-in forms is getting difficult, as many residents remain confused about the 2005 section, a key component for scrutiny. BLOs also report that the ECI App frequently freezes on their old Android phones, making QR code scanning nearly impossible. Several officers ran out of mobile data mid-shift, forcing uploads to be pushed to the next day. During visits to booths in Korukkupet, Old Washermenpet, Royapuram, Lloyd’s Road, and T Nagar, TOI found that BLOs and data entry operators managed to upload barely 100–150 forms per booth so far. Yamuna, a BLO in Royapuram, said many data entry operators were using their personal phones. “Not everyone has smartphones. We have to scan the enumeration form, manually enter details, and upload it. The app hangs or crashes. If we had exclusive computers, this would move faster,” she said. At her booth on Naniappan Street, four operators took nearly 15 minutes to upload a single form. BLOs have also been told to source 2005-roll details for eligible voters. Yamuna said they were instructed to search the 2005 rolls by name and address and complete that section before digitizing. “This takes at least 20 minutes per form. Some residents even ask to check the 2005-roll book themselves. Everything slows down,” she said. Under pressure to finish the drive, many BLOs now rely on party workers to bring people to camps and are also giving them forms. W S Ravi, a DMK booth level agent (BLA), said turnout at booths has been poor. “People think BLOs will come door to door. I’m now bringing known voters first. In the last leg, we may have to go door to door anyway,” he said. Allowing BLAs to fill forms is causing errors as they are not trained. R Ramesh, a voter from Old Washermenpet, said his wife’s 2005 roll details were incorrectly entered by a BLA. “Her number is 140, but they wrote 143. She didn’t even live there in 2005.” he said.

@omjasvinMD We doesn't realize when this happened in Bihar. Now, people can realize how hard it is. It's not about SIR, it's about timeline and the way it is defined to carry out. India a largest nation, couldn't find a easy way for people to identify themselves as a citizen.

At least 40,000 voters in Chennai’s largest resettlement colony are at risk of losing votes in the SIR drive. This is due to irregularities in address details in the voter ID. Designated Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are unable to find voters and handover the SIR forms, because several hundred houses bear the same door numbers without any block or tower details. There are at least 200 forms with one door number, a BLO from Perumbakkam said. “But the voter in that door number could live in any of the 200 blocks. We climb up to eight floors to find only one or two voters. There are 10 BLOs and each of us has barely distributed 200 forms in the past week, but the collectorate is forcing us to add more entries even though we haven’t distributed the forms. They tell us to add the entries and distribute the forms later,” the BLO said. Perumbakkam is the city’s biggest resettlement colony where 20,000 families have lived across 200 blocks for the past 10 years. However, when they were relocated from different parts of the city, the then TN Slum Clearance Board entered only the door numbers as addresses without mentioning the block numbers. As a result, the BLOs are unable to locate voters. K Nallathambi, president of the All Blocks Association in Perumbakkam, said it was too late to change the entries. “Govt should just hold camps and invite people to identify their forms. With the voter ID, we can find the file number on the spot,” he said. Sholinganallur MLA Aravindh Ramesh said he has asked the Chengalpet district collector to hold a camp.

@omjasvinMD Agreed, this is not a easy task to complete in 3 months. Reformation process should be ease for the public by here ECI is complicating. Of they want to do it, should have carried a door to door check atleast a year back and finalized the draft now. SC is blind in this.

Several residents, including those from new parts of the city such as OMR, Perungudi, and Pallikaranai struggle to find their old EPIC numbers linked to the 2005 Special Intensive Revision (SIR) roll online. Many fear losing their votes.
While Election Commission of India (ECI) has updated the EPIC numbers to a new series, many do not know their old voter ID number to verify with the 2005 SIR. Verification of either the voter’s name or that of their parents is a key process under the SIR.
This is impacting more people in the newly developed areas, as people moved in only later. Harsha Koda, co-founder of the Federation of OMR Residents Association (FOMRRA), said most OMR neighbourhoods were created post-2000; people had their voter IDs elsewhere but are unable to find their names in the rolls.
“We tried checking it online, but are confused about where our booths are. We couldn’t trace our old names. ECI has now launched a new link, and a few residents found their names. We are committed to not losing our vote and are going to host BLOs at our community to verify our names in older rolls,” he said.
He mentioned that FOMRRA has 1,20,000 votes across 44,000 houses registered with them. “We have coordinated through WhatsApp and have narrowed down locations for BLOs to hold camps. We will make sure all the voters participate,” he said.
Though ECI allows people to find old SIR details, many residents said the website threw up a common answer: no records found. Unable to find their names in the 2005 rolls, some are now returning the enumeration forms without filling the 2005 SIR section. “Our BLO asked us to fill the old constituency name in the 2005 section in pencil and leave the rest of the sections such as name, voter ID, relationship details and state.
We have a passport, income tax details, and other proof. Why do they want 2005 data? This shouldn’t be a reason to remove voters from the list,” said Ganesh Karthik of Velachery.
Similar is the case of K Sekar of Virugambakkam, who struggled to verify his 2005 details online. “We will know if our forms are accepted or rejected only on Dec 9. If they’re missing, who should we reach out to? ECI has to answer these questions,” he said.
The ECI has allowed people to submit govt documents, including Aadhaar, as proof if their name isn’t there in the 2005 rolls. Neither district election commissioner J Kumaragurubaran nor state chief electoral officer Archana Patnaik was available to answer the queries.

@omjasvinMD Again an issue for a normal middle class and poor people, should ECI work out an easy way to change their address through SIR? How come they will do this task in 3months which they haven't done for so many years? This raises a question.

As SIR enters day three, people who have moved between constituencies or districts but not have updated the address in their voter ID fear of losing their vote. While many struggled to contact their BLOs through online numbers, some were told that they can one apply for address change through form 8 and reinter as a voter post Dec 9 draft roll, and that their vote from the previous neighbourhood will be deleted. This has left several residents clueless and worried of losing their vote.
