Cancelled chatGPT today. I only use Perplexity + Claude now. Still have access to GPT via Perplexity + API, just not paying $20/mo for subscription.

I have been working for the last 3 weeks on a comprehensive macro dashboard to track FED policy, macro, and liquidity. @perplexity_ai Computer has done an amazing job at building what I had envisioned. Key Sections: 1. All the key economic data points 2. Policy signal gauge and Bottom Line 3. FOMC Outlook 4. Custom Liquidity Regime indicator combining many financial condition/liquidity gauges (the breakdown is defined in fine print in the app 5. Liquidity regime analysis to previous major tops and bottoms 6. Inflation Expectations 7. US Fiscal Health 8. All relevant news regarding FED policy, macro, fiscal policy and liquidity Well done @AravSrinivas. I'm excited for Personal Computer

the future is an agent that lives proactively in the background, fixing issues, completing tasks and only bringing things to your attention when it needs final confirmation this is true in an enterprise context (like Linear) but it's also true in our personal lives. Todo lists are going to be a thing of the past

@TedHZhang How much usage/ tokens does this use up after building? Also do you share your dashboards/the prompts?

with one prompt and asking for FRED, BLS, CBO data, I added Core CPI, PPI and PCE. I also added a feature so that I can see a historical line chart of key values

Summary of the current macroeconomic conditions by my macro intelligence dashboard created by @perplexity_ai Computer. I love this thing. Bottom line: Stagflation risk is now the dominant macro theme. The FOMC held at 3.50%--3.75% (11-1) with the dot plot median unchanged at one cut, but the hawkish shift is real -- 14 of 19 officials see zero or one cut in 2026, up from 7 in December. Powell admitted inflation is 'not coming down as hoped' while Feb PPI came in scorching at +0.7% MoM (double consensus). Overnight, the war escalated sharply -- Israel struck South Pars and Iran retaliated against Qatar's Ras Laffan LNG and Kuwait refineries. Brent has spiked above $115, up from $73 pre-war. The Fed is trapped: labor is cracking (NFP -92K) but inflation expectations are stuck at 3.4% and the energy shock is intensifying. No cuts are coming anytime soon.

My @perplexity_ai Max subscription renews tomorrow and I can't access Computer or see any of my credits. Unused credits don't roll over, so I'm basically losing what I've paid for with no way to use them. Had a big project queued up today specifically to use them before reset. Can someone look into this? @AravSrinivas @AskPerplexity

Today is the 20th birthday of The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth II. Published by EA on March 3, 2006, it is set in Middle-Earth during the War of the Ring. It features Good and Evil campaigns with nine missions each, massive RTS battles, and heroes like Aragorn and the Witch-king. You can command six factions: Men of the West, Elves, Dwarves, Goblins, Isengard, and Mordor. It didn't introduce new features but followed essentially the same formula as other popular RTS games of its era. You build your base, research upgrades, build an army, and try to destroy your enemy. Done a gazillion times... but why reinvent the wheel if it's a proven concept? For LOTR fans it was certainly worth it, and given the success of the movie trilogy, it made a lot of sense to profit from the hype.

@_simonsmith i'm in the same boat now, claude is my #1 before GPT as of 2 weeks ago. If i'm not too impressed with the new 5.3 coming and other things they announce, they I will probably cancel my sub or go back to plus plan over pro.

My current AI choices: Claude is my daily driver. Anthropic has the best overall models (just look at all the leaderboards) and I prefer its models’ personality, writing style, and design taste in particular. Also, I increasingly use the Claude Chrome plugin for work (example: to review dozens of websites and prepare an analysis) and Cowork for finished work deliverables like presentations and reports. Anthropic is also innovating in areas that most directly impact my work and in ways that make the most sense to me, like MCPs and Agent Skills. ChatGPT has shifted down into second place for me. I use it primarily for Atlas (because I can’t use the Claude Chrome plugin with both work and personal accounts, so it’s configured for work only right now), Pulse (finds me interesting stuff), hard reasoning problems (GPT-5.2 Pro in particular), deep research (new update is great), internal company data queries, shared projects at work, and meeting recording at work. Codex is also good, but I’m not doing a lot of coding projects these days. Gemini and Grok get sporadic use, like multimedia output for the former, and summarizes of recent X posts on a topic for the latter. I also use other Google tools often, like NotebookLM and the too underrated Vids. I experiment with other stuff like Kimi too, but because most stuff outside of OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Microsoft, and some other heavily certified vendors is hard to get approval for in my business context, typically don’t spend as much time using them. I’m waiting to see if the next ChatGPT model update changes this dynamic. But I’ve resigned myself to living in a multi-model, multi-tool world with no monogamy or loyalty if you want to use what’s best for you and your use cases at different points in time.

Every few months, I write an updated, idiosyncratic guide on which AIs to use right now. My new version has the most changes ever, since AI is no longer just about chatbots. To use AI you need to understand how to think about models, apps, and harnesses. open.substack.com/pub/oneusefult…

@jeffgrimes9 Not sure where the data comes from but would be cool to have tipranks or something like that as a data provider, maybe for max plan or something if it’s expensive. But would be a nice touch. Maybe it’ll already do the job and not need that.

If you really think this? Maybe you’re a troll but neither person was a “innocent victim”. They both pushed past the limits of their rights and unfortunately were killed. Let the investigations come to light. Frankly, I don’t think any officer will go to jail for it based on what I saw.

This is perfect. ICE agent: “If you cared, you would care about the child who got raped and the person who got murdered by the guy we’re looking for. “ Awful, ugly white lady: “I don’t care.” The entire insane national debate encapsulated in 20 sec.

@crunchyrugger Even thought it shouldn’t be necessary, I would gladly pay more in taxes to cover everyone to get a legit free ID. At that point, there is absolutely no legitimate argument against requiring a ID to vote. This doesn’t have to be complicated.

it's unconstitutional to force people to pay to vote. none of the ID listed as acceptable in the SAVE Act is free to obtain. thus, the bill is unconstitutional.
