To add to this, I talked to my community about what people are saying. I was confused with some people calling me a hypocrite, I do advocate mental health for women and men. I however do not care about chibi. I made the mistake of saying the first thing that came out of my head when seeing his username, but i should’ve been the better person and said nothing. I’ve learn to hold my tongue in most things but I legit got surprised seeing the username and the association with it. For people who think i’m backpedaling no. I’m sorry for slipping up and not thinking before talking but i’m not sorry for what i said tbh esp that it was towards him. He’s a piece of shit and everything about him is disgusting to me. Not because he got cheated on but because he’s a weirdo in general. For the original post, I didn’t make the post for people to delete art of me. I did it just as a reminder of my stance which hasn’t change. It annoyed me that people have the time to scroll on my page but not take the time to literally read the OG post and the REPLY NOT AN HOUR AFTER SPECIFYING WHAT I EXACTLY MEANT. What I don’t understand is why so many people talk as if the story began and ended with the stabbing. A tragedy can occur and we can still ask what led to it. If someone believes Karmelo was wrong, that’s their right. But why is it controversial to discuss the confrontation, the physical contact, and the events that happened before that moment? Justice isn’t just about the outcome. It’s also about understanding the circumstances that produced it.

The Karmelo Anthony verdict shows that the justice system has reverted back to the Jim Crow South era. It is no longer about evidence. It is no longer about right or wrong. It is about keeping racial score through the prosecution and imprisonment of Black people. It was no surprise that an all white jury would find a 19 year old kid, who was bullied and harassed by two 6’1” bullies, guilty of murder while he was minding his business. We have seen this story before. A young Black man is put on trial, and somehow the burden shifts from what happened to him, to why he should not have defended himself. The facts become secondary. The optics become everything. The outcome feels predetermined long before the verdict is read. People will tell you not to make it about race. But race has always been part of the story in America. The hard truth is that many Black people no longer believe they will receive the benefit of the doubt when their freedom is on the line. And verdicts like this are exactly why. At some point, we have to stop pretending that everyone is playing by the same set of rules. Because the people watching this case saw something very different than what that jury claimed to see.
