@RealisticKnick @worldranking_ She went and got a law degree, which few people have capacity to do - she will do just fine. She'd be a great legal advisor, advocate or lobbyist for social issues - many that frankly hold folks with disabilities back with stigma and ignorance... proving your point!

This Thai street dog arrived to us this week. He is incredibly happy today just 5 days after being rescued. His story is one that proves dogs feel emotions. His comeback has been astounding (1/7) 🧵

@vibrantdad I'm redoing my kitchen. I have an almost 30 year old Frigidaire fridge that has NEVER needed to be fixed. It sometimes however sounds like a tractor (compressor). I started researching reviews & asking friends - literally the more expensive they get the more service they need

Does any company make "dumb" refrigerators, dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, etc.? I'm tired of these smart products breaking down every three years. My grandparents had the same fridge for 50 years. It can be done.

its not. Medical physicists will be often be involved directly with patient treatment planning and treatment. Ideally you want a PhD and you need at least two years of residency in a clinic. I think the hours are long but they make like 250~350 a year Health physicist in a hospital setting will most likely do all the support things related to treatment facility. Dont need a phd and dont need residency. For example, my hospital wanted to build a new suite for PET/CT scanner and I had to come up with shielding design for the facility. Maintenance with the equipment, There's tests that needs to be done radiology equipment annually or quarterly that needs to be done. Like QA tests and more advanced systems tests. Management of radioactive waste from patient treatment. Audits to ensure radiology department is in compliance with federal regulations. Another tons of jobs can be found in the nuclear power plant industry and academic settings as well. hps.org Has a job board thats directly related to health physics, always 10~15 jobs open and the post expire i think once every two months( think of it as like 10~15 new jobs every 2~3 months). Gotta pay for membership though. list.iu.edu/sympa/info/amr… Subscribe to a email list above, this one is free and theres tons of useful discussions and job openings from time to time. nrc.gov/about-nrc/regu… This is public information on how many enforcement actions were taken by the government in united states. Think of the companies and places that end up in these reports as protentional employers because they clearly need a good radiation protection program to avoid these fines. hps.org/wp-content/upl… Is an actual survey of industry professional of how much they make and from what experience and etc etc. Over all, There is alot of demand for field of radiation protection and not alot of supply. Everyone wants to be a medical physicist but no one has heard of health physicist.

@TrancenowNet @naturelifeok1 We don't feed our dog grapes for that reason & have grape vines in backyard, not accessible to the dog. However, we have a family of healthy raccoons who live in our large Maple tree & each year they proceed to eat the grapes & my rhubarb (of which the leaves are poisonous). 🤷🏼‍♀️

@MeInMyHammock @Gavincalifornia @GaryBoylen1 @GarrettHaake Thank you Jennie! As a retired business prof and Canadian, it is driving me crazy that folks, including Trump, can't understand a trade deficit. It's basic economics and supply & demand factors. Sadly, people resort to uninformed sources.... and believe or worse repeat them!!!

It’s hard to overstate how big of a deal the tariffs are in Canada. The first 12 minutes of the @CBCNews national news were tariff stories. It’s all over local radio, and on the lips of people I’ve met in Toronto this evening. Canada is FURIOUS at the US right now.

You realize a country with 40 million people is incapable of buying as much stuff from a country of 320 million as it would take not to have a trade imbalance, right? Exactly what are Canadians supposed to do? Buy 8x as much of everything they currently get from America? Listen, we pay for goods and services. That’s it. Canada has done nothing wrong. Nothing ever prevented Americans from producing or importing shit, it’s simply more economical to trade. If you don’t see this you are braindead.

@CasperDahl9 @_Me_Three @clairlemon I was a bully in high school. I’ve never strayed from the ethos. Americans do not have an inferiority complex. We are the most powerful country to ever exist. Our reach, with some exceptions, is almost absolute. If anything, we self-deprecate.

@Nljigakulive @atrupar You-correct with all of that! Canada is more of a resource based country & trading with Canada makes sense when you can get those resources cheaper to produce for your country's consumers at lower cost. Especially when it costs less to transport north to south than east to west

@ob1n152952 Look up where you get fresh water from! US is the largest importer of water in the world - Canada has a lot of the sustainable fresh water and a lot of it is sent to the US - as water and hydro. You can build production, it's impossible to build natural resources...
