Ended up taking home 1st place prize for Best Project Upgrade at @SensAIHackademy @frontiertower SF hackathon with my team this past weekend. Had a lot of fun hacking and embracing the Samurai theme of the hack, got to do some sword performances and even some sword training where I took on the role of Sensai.

Fluid is taking a big swing at becoming one of the main social VR platforms. More to show off next week, but if you’re in our Beta program, get your headset ready for this weekend!

I was just reading about... how Meta spent a lot of money on FBT tech, but wanted to do it all with camera compute... therefore, it doesn't work well (no leg tracking) and... it is resource intensive, so no games use it lol... so essentially, it is an expensive, useless, flop... But then Pico just released some IMU trackers you put on your legs, its cheap, easy to use, and inexpensive to develop. Easy solution! But... Boz said, no body wants it... that's why they didn't do that instead lol Such backwards logic to me. Instead of build something good, useful, and cheaply -- easy to use, they built something expensive, too taxing on hardware, and something that is mostly unusable and not good (doesn't do leg tracking)... how is that a win? lol Just give people a tracker to put on their legs, it's not that hard! A big win for common sense for @PICOXR uploadvr.com/meta-wont-make… uploadvr.com/pico-4-ultra-t…

@cixliv It was all fine and dandy until they had to spend billions on legs..... Those damn legs are hard.

Bruh... I remember selling all my Nintendo systems and games just to afford this game. Funny story/memory. I went with my older brother to EB Games (or was it Funcoland?) to trade in our games/systems. You had to trade in a lot to get any money to buy stuff, the trade-in ratio was really bad... anyways, we gave em a bunch of stuff which got us over $50 to buy the game... they had accepted everything but I was feeling a bit guilty because I knew that there was a bend in the connector to the TV with the NES and might not connect or would break when connected to a TV... so eventually before we handed them the money... I broke and I told the employee the truth that there was a bend... then the guy then decided he couldn't accept the NES because of the bend in the connector. So we lost maybe like $20 or $30 because I said that... but we still had enough to buy the game. I think my brother was kinda angry at me for saying that, I guess I was too honest as a kid. I remember we had some left over money... so my brother took it and bought himself some Taco Bell.... then I remember on the car ride home, just flipping through the book that the game came with and look at all the art... I was specifically enthralled with the anime artwork of the characters... Aerith and Nanaki I thought looked really cool... I was probably like 8 or 9... and the rest is history! The reason we bought the game is because my brothers friend had it and showed us the gameplay and the graphics... they were amazing at the time! I specifically remember, he showed us the world map and the combat that happens in the area outside of Midgar. It was maybe like a week or two from the release of the game, so it was brand new and we had never even heard of it! But we liked Final Fantasy 1 from NES days, so we knew it would be a good RPG and really, it was the graphics that blew us away... but the Steampunk style with guns was kind of strange as we were used to Medieval style RPG, but it was new and fresh and exciting! ... I have other stories from my childhood on the release... like how I trolled my friend with the game... but can share that later if anyone is interested.

@jmdagdelen @jmdagdelen Be a bit careful, everyone that sees this post thinks you are saying Hyperscape Capturing is shutting down... it's not. Just Horizon Worlds is shutting down, and therefore, viewing scans with others in Horizon Worlds is too.

@DyLhun @jmdagdelen Export feature should be coming from what I hear. It's still gonna be usable it seems... just not with Horizon Worlds as that is shutting down.

This is insanely cool! Heisei lets you tune images to look like they were captured through an analog capture card, VHS, or other lossy capture tool from the 90s. This photo I recently took in Final Fantasy XI looks like it could have been right out of a magazine in the 90s!

This is the app I prototyped at Meta... Yeah, seems Meta Horizon wont support VR anymore in the future, but I dont think that affects Hyperscape Capture much. I actually used the scanning feature during the @SensAIHackademy World Models hack this past weekend and have a nice 'time-capsule' of the event now to view, hopefully, forever. I heard from someone Meta-adjacent that they will eventually open it up to developers so they can include their Gaussian Splat scans in their projects which I think is super dope and useful! Cool I was able to help build/prototype something that will hopefully be used by many in the future!

An epic weekend hacking the world with AI! Thanks everyone who came out, hacked late into the night, and built some incredible things in just a few hours! Shoutout to @PICOXR & @theworldlabs and many others for being incredible sponsors, and @fdotinc for being epic hosts 🌉
SensAI Hackademy@SensAIHackademy

3 days by the ocean. 200 hackers. Countless worlds created. This weekend, we hosted the first edition of #WorldsinAction Hack in SF @fdotinc Hackers came together to experiment, ship fast, and explore what World Models make possible. Huge thanks to all mentors and judges who spent their weekend helping teams push ideas further. 🙏 And to our partners @PICOXR, #ByteDance, and @theworldlabs for sponsoring tracks and bringing their latest platforms directly to hackers. The energy was amazing, with over 50 teams formed! Excited to see what these teams turn into over the next few months. 💥 Hosted by @SensAIHackademy

What's REK doing?!? It's not a whacky European Olympic sport, it's the (very scientific) reliability test of the REK TEK, to test whether our system can maintain control of our robot after being relocated 50+ feet. The experiment was a success😎

You are missing a critical realization with your responses... how Advent Children relates to REMAKE. In AC, Cloud is a miserable c*nt.. it is because it is a bad timeline... Nomura says this. In Remake, they are "Remaking" the timeline so that Cloud isn't a miserable c*nt anymore lol So, AC is bad timeline, Remake is good timeline.

Kadaj, Loz, and Yazoo are remnants of Sephiroth, taking on parts of his persona. Which is why Loz cries since takes the emotional an unstable part of Sephiroth. You should have been able to figure out this part 20 mins into the film. He is depressed because of his survivors guilt after what happened in the game and because of getting the stigma and watching Denzel get it, he does the only they he knows, go into isolation. He didn't want to protect the kids because he has the ultimate fear of failing people he cares for. (Anyone could have figured that out by playing the game) Tseng and Elena, were ambushed by Kadaj, Loz, and Yazoo since they got their hands on Jenova's head an were able to get it to the helicopter before being captured. (You really think the Turks were chilling in the Northern Crater for shits and giggles. You should have figured that one out 15 mins in) Healin Lodge is pretty self explanatory by the time you get there. Idk why you think this is some insane mystery you couldn't figure out. The statue in Edge was clearly a memorial for Meteorfall (Either you never played the game or you really needed to be spoon fed Barret is excited about find oil because any genius would figure out they need a new energy source after Shinra who controlled every mako plant in the world crumbled. (Another spoon fed moment for people like you) Now here is the fun part. I never have read On A Way to A Smile. I didn't need a book to figure basic things. I was able to figure this all out in 2005 with the first version of Advent Children. If you actually played the game, understood character motivations. Actually think about how the rest of the world would survive after Meteor.
