@GeriPerna The problem is salaries / wages at the upper end are now ridiculous. The senior guys rely on the workers but take all the rewards in a totally disproportionate way.

When I worked at Macy's back in the 80's, people who worked there raised families on what they made. It was their career. I remember the guy in electronics retired after 30 years, and my boss in the cash office did the same. The guys who worked in the suit department did very well for themselves. Despite that, the store profited greatly every year, and we were given a beautiful Christmas party in appreciation. What changed in this country? When did it become nearly impossible to support oneself at a job that didn't require a degree or technical school?

@Mularisback Thanks for the reply. I’ve done a long pod on the subject on The Football Boardroom (City deny all charges etc).

In praise of Abdukodir Khusanov. The Manchester City centre-back turned 22 only last month, is still developing his game, still ironing out mistakes, but increasingly impresses with his speed, athleticism and determination. Also his simple but effective distribution and love for the physical fray. At Wembley, his sprint back to dispossess the breaking Kai Havertz was pickpocketing at pace. Khusanov did well in the Carabao Cup final as he gradually got to grips with Viktor Gyokeres. Still prone to a rash challenge. He took out Gyokeres but the booking didn’t faze him. Re-focused on winning his duels for the next hour. His character has never been in doubt. On his City debut in Jan 2025, he didn’t speak the language and had had only two training sessions. He made two early mistakes, gifted Chelsea a route to goal and was then booked for fouling Cole Palmer. But he got on with the game and his career at City. “Our Uzbek warrior” the club calls him. Good scouting. City recruited him from Lens for £33.6m after he’d played only 31 games. Also great initial scouting by Lens when he was at Energetik-BGU in Minsk. Khusanov still has elements to improve, especially in aerial challenges (he’s 6ft 1in), but looks to have many of the strengths to mature into a top centre-half. And he is only just 22. Khusanov is in competition with some heavyweight names such as Ruben Dias and John Stones (when fit). Josko Gvardiol was playing well before suffering a tibial fracture to his right leg. Gvardiol better at left centre-back where Marc Guehi has landed successfully. Gvardiol also plays left-back well (where Nico O’Reilly, who prefers, is flourishing). Nathan Ake, 31, partnered Khusanov at Wembley. Guardiola has outstanding options at centre-back, great role models for Khusanov to learn from. Guardiola Also academy graduate Max Alleyne. Khusanov can also play right-back. He seems very humble. Khusanov had to be encouraged by Foden, Haaland and Donnarumma to go across to take the acclaim of the City fans at Wembley. Almost bashful. Nothing diffident about his defending, though. Khusanov looks a big prospect for City. #MCFC

I actually don’t understand how France has 69 million people. Where are they? 5 largest cities: Paris 2 million Marseille 0.8MM Lyon 0.5MM Toulouse 0.5Mm Nice 0.3MM Where are they all hiding? In the countryside? The “big” cities are so tiny.

A 16% drop in entry-level hiring for AI-exposed jobs. That's already happening in the US. What does Britain do about it? Sunak's answer: cut National Insurance. Cut the cost of employing people now, before it's too late. Another fascinating column:- thetimes.com/business/econo…

You post continuously trying to “expose” me as an Iranian man about a scenario Iranians warned us about from inside the country. So I’ll tell you what this man taking about. Since the #WomanLifeFreedom movement in 2022 when the regime also shut down the internet cutting off voices of protest, Iranians inside Iran asked for us on the outside to “refuse silence and be our voice”. Rather than be curious about what you quote below and seek further information about who is saying this and why, you tweet that I am somehow insane and spread misinformation. My dear Owen, it is not your country. Be a journalist by all means but it is overstepping a boundary when speaking over Iranians when it doesn’t suit your narrative. It is the epitome of western privilege and supremacy. I don’t need you to believe those few voices coming out of Iran under a digital black out. Simply asking you to stop speaking over them.
Owen Jones@owenjonesjourno

What is this man talking about? What does this have to do with him spreading INSANE false claims that the US massacre of Iranian schoolgirls was staged by the Iranian regime, using bodies they'd kept in cold storage?

The US needs 500,000 new electricians this decade. Apprenticeships take 5 years. Microsoft’s Brad Smith says it’s the #1 thing slowing data center expansion. The AI bottleneck isn’t chips. It’s the trades.

Mid-30s Unemployment?! “I think it’s very natural to be concerned about jobs. “I think young people coming out of university today, it’s like 9% unemployment. “I think it could easily go into the mid-30s in the next couple of years.” - Bill McDermott $NOW CEO CNBC: “The mid-30s?!” Bill McDermitt: “I do, because what’s happening now is for the non-differentiating roles, so much of the work is going to be done by agents. “So it’s going to be challenging for young people to differentiate themselves.”

National Rebirth Party
National Rebirth Party@Natrebirthparty·
Thank you to all who attended what was our largest party meeting yet in Coventry yesterday. We will upload speeches shortly: The first addressed nationalism and how it has changed since the 1980s. The second addressed major issues facing our people, and the need to reconcile both the left and the right. The third addressed the global demographic and population crisis, and why we must resist internationalisation. The fourth addressed the topic of National Ecology, the importance of blood and soil, and how the National Agenda can offer a genuine form of environmentalism. Particular thanks to the Leaders of 8 established branches who were present: Birmingham, Hull, Leeds, Leicester, Manchester, Nottingham, Portsmouth, and Stafford. Help us realise a genuine National Agenda by getting involved with the National Rebirth Party today: Nationalrebirthparty.org.uk/Join-as-a-Memb…
