Robinhood will run with ETH as a SoV and asset of choice for treasury. Coinbase is fumbling this because of Brian's personal BTC maximalist mindset... this will cost them dearly. If you are going to be running your orgs finance on Ethereum and have confidence that the whole world will do the same, then you might as well pick ETH as its preferred SoV, especially considering that it is structurally superior to BTC.
Etc.@ec265

As expected, Coinbase sold 100% of their sequencer fees and ETH holdings are flat at 150k All the while they added over $50M of BTC The strategy is clear, and unfortunately it is not a winning one: it is a big missed opportunity

My BTC was stored on a Coldcard MK4 and it is our life savings for retirement. Since I am out of town for a conference, I do not have access to my Coldcard. I could barely sleep last night. Luckily, I remembered my 12-word seed phrase, so I downloaded BlueWallet and imported it. Then I sent 0.001 BTC to Coinbase as a test transaction. After confirming that it went through successfully, I sent the rest. At this point, I am unsure what to do next. My options are: 1. Set up a multisig wallet. 2. Move the BTC to Bitkey. 3. Sell the BTC and buy $IBIT. I am still undecided. My heart goes out to my fellow Bitcoiners who lost their coins. I am truly sorry for what they are going through.

@smileycapital I would say LTC is even more compressed than ETH, but I agree with you overall.

I think that barring any catastrophic macro/geopol/virus event, downside on BTC is capped to 50s regarding ETH, every metric points to 2019-2021 type of permanent relative outperformance versus BTC I understand ETH is extremely contrarian right now - will expand more on it

$ETH: For the first time ever, I'm making Ethereum a serious part of my portfolio. In previous cycles, only around 10% of my BTC allocation went into ETH. Now I'm raising that to 20%! For every $4 USD that I invest into Bitcoin, $1 goes into ETH

I get what Zach is trying to say here. iPhone grants far better visibility into your txs, and a much better ux. And if you ONLY use it for crypto, and never download anything else or visit sketchy sites on it, it's reasonably safe. So basically, if you're smart about your use, it can function as a hardware wallet with better UX. I do not think most people are capable of being "smart about use". It too easily becomes another internet connected device, and one mistake = complete loss of all funds held there. That's why I still recommend hardware wallets (and even still use one myself). Keystone and GridPlus are two alternatives with much better visibility/UX than ledger. There are strides to be made in the hardware wallet space, for sure. But they're still the safest way to secure crypto that you need access to regularly (if you don't need access, just shard and write down the seed/pk, then lock away the shards in geographically distributed locations). Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

🚨ZACHXBT: “ALL HARDWARE WALLETS ARE COMPLETE GARBAGE”! On-chain investigator ZachXBT warned against using current hardware wallets for signing critical transactions or storing large amounts of funds. He singled out Ledger as the worst option, citing frequent Ledger Live updates that disrupt basic functionality, and suggested a dedicated iPhone used only for crypto may be a better alternative.
