Why is the SAVE Act dead in the US Senate?
Senator John Curtis, Utah @SenJohnCurtis
He is on paper a "Republican", but in reality he was a Democrat for many years and merely ran as a Republican to get elected in Utah.
He was the Mitt Romney replacement in Utah.

@of_ute @RepJohnCurtis @deltacenter @utahhockeyclub Im the congressman’s chief of staff. He’s not the owner or driver of a Rivian. This is his truck —

English

@RepJohnCurtis @deltacenter @utahhockeyclub Just when you thought a man could not be any more beta and cowardly than Mitt Romney… meet lifetime Democrat John Stock Broker Curtis.
He’s so beta he drives a RIVIAN “truck”.
English

Hello district! Highs and lows this week from my first NHL game at @DeltaCenter to see the @UtahHockeyClub.
English

@mrsunbubbles @disagreebutter He was NEVER chair of the Democratic Party in Utah.
English

@disagreebutter @mrsunbubbles He never ran for Congress as a Democrat. He ran for state senate in Provo.
English

@mrsunbubbles He was the chairman of the democratic party in Utah and even once ran for Congress as a Democrat.

Question for @RepJohnCurtis or @RepBlakeMoore (cc @IronmanCorey) on the mechanics of the House:
Who are the decision makers regarding when/whether the House adjourns or stays in session on a given day?
Chad Pergram@ChadPergram
House GOP pulls Treasury spending bill. Can’t pass it. House is done for the week

.This is my solution for the Speaker’s race. And, I take full responsibility for this post and idea. Let’s start a movement. Retweet this if you agree with me. #SpeakerCurtis. 😉🫣😂

@rayne_alli @NateForUtah @SpencerJCox Are those on state roads or local? Liberty Park isn't the state's responsibility. You need to talk with your local leaders.
English

@NateForUtah @SpencerJCox Let’s not ignore the roads in Sugarhouse and liberty park. Just F level infrastructure. FYI @SpencerJCox

Utah company sadly learning what happens when progressive candidates and policies are unchecked.

"San Francisco appears to have descended into a city of chaos." Painful letter from the CEO of @cotopaxi about why they are closing their shop in SF.

@MAaronSLC Here’s the solution - pay back the bill you agreed to when taking out the loan.

@UtahBlueWave @StewartforUtah He’ll win handily. So I’d say - you’re wrong.
English

@StewartforUtah ICYMI, we already told you that we don’t want you.
English

@IronmanCorey @RobertGehrke Heh. I’d imagine the underlying idea, however phrased, would have to come from John first. If excusing sedition and punishing colleagues for seeking accountability is not a bright line for him, it’d be hard for a press shop to write that sentiment into his statements.
English

Romney is still, as far as I can tell, the only Utah Republican who has addressed this head-on.
@GovCox and @RepChrisStewart declined to comment. Nobody else responded to the question.
Scott MacFarlane@MacFarlaneNews
Sen Mitt Romney (R-UT) moments ago about RNC censure: "It could not have been a more inappropriate message. One to sanction two people of character as they did. But number two to suggest that a violent attack on the seat of democracy is legitimate political discourse"
English

@AlanWessman @RobertGehrke I'll let you know if there's ever an opening in the press shop.
English

@IronmanCorey @RobertGehrke “The RNC censure resolution was wrong, and is the sort of divisive tactic that I deplore in politics. I will not associate with a party that condones attacks on our democracy and punishes those helping hold the perpetrators accountable.”
—what I wish he’d said
English

@mbrownreport @UTHistory @ut_cce @Interior @DeseretNews Not sure how to reach you directly. This isn't accurate. I'm the COS for the congressman and was the deputy mayor for him in Provo. He never endorsed a plan to change the name. He told them, "Go find out the process and use it."
English

Proponents of renaming Squaw Peak in Provo may now have the federal help they need to get it done. My story on the issue: @uthistory @ut_cce @interior deseret.com/2021/12/1/2279… via @DeseretNews
English

@KelseyKWitt @RobertGehrke @EvanMcMullin Help me understand his path. Sen Lee has money and can raise. The most likely scenario is he makes it out of conv w/over 60%, wins in a primary and cleans house in general. What does McMullin do to disrupt that? I don't see it.
English

@IronmanCorey @RobertGehrke @EvanMcMullin Corey - great question. Like most presidential campaigns, Evan's ended in some modest debt. He'll continue to make good on that. You may find this interesting: publicintegrity.org/politics/all-t…
