Senators John Fetterman (D-PA) and Martin Heinrich (D-NM) were the only Democrats who voted to advance (and, for the final confirmation, to support) Markwayne Mullin's nomination to be Secretary of Homeland Security.

Sen. John Kennedy: "The Democrats offered to open up everything but ICE. Ted and I said, 'Ok, let's accept their offer,' and then at the same time we would offer a bill for reconciliation where we don't need any Democratic votes to do whatever we wanted to do with ICE. That way we're out of the shutdown and DHS is back open. Thune submitted that to President Trump. He said, 'No. No deals with the Democrats.' So we're back to square one."

Today I voted against confirming Markwayne Mullin as DHS Secretary. DHS oversees border security, disaster response, and the safety of the American people. Since this administration took office, we have seen reckless enforcement actions, due process violations, and a pattern of conduct and violence that has shaken public trust in the agency. DHS does not need more of the same. It needs serious reform, real accountability, and leadership with the judgment to course correct. I am concerned that Mr. Mullin has not demonstrated he can meet that bar. The American people deserve a DHS that works for them. Republicans cannot continue writing President Trump a blank check.

I voted NO on Senator Mullin for DHS Secretary. The failures at DHS run far deeper than who holds the title of Secretary.   Trump and his cronies continue to show no intention of ending the lawlessness we’ve seen in our streets and we must demand better.

Iraq 2003: Ahmed Chalabi told the Bush administration Saddam had WMDs. The intelligence community had doubts. They chose Chalabi. 4,500 Americans died. No WMDs were found. Iran 2026: Israel said ten bombs in two weeks. 18 agencies said no nuclear capacity. They chose Israel. 14 Americans dead. No nuclear program found. Joe Kent ran the National Counterterrorism Center. He just told you on camera what the intelligence actually said. And what was ignored to start this war. Never stop connecting the dots.

TSA is largely funded by a tax on every ticket. It adds $5.60 to every one-way ticket & $11.20 to roundtrips. Everyone in line right now is already paying the TSA fee, even for free reward travel. The government has previously diverted that money to the Treasury. Pay the agents.
