This is the kind of work that actually changes things on the ground.
RLO leaders who understand their legal rights are harder to ignore and harder to sideline. When you know the law you walk into rooms differently. You speak differently. You push back differently.
West Nile has some of the largest refugee settlements in Uganda and the RLOs there have been doing this work for years with almost no formal support. This training is long overdue and I am glad RELON is making it happen.
Keep going. The community deserves leaders who are equipped not just willing

Energy poverty is one of the most overlooked issues in refugee settlements. People are cooking with charcoal, children are studying in the dark, small businesses cannot operate after sunset.
These are not small problems. They drain livelihoods, harm health and keep communities trapped.
The fact that RLOs are at the center of this conversation with GPA is what makes this different. We are not being consulted after decisions are made. We are part of shaping the solution from the beginning.
@relonuganda keep pushing. And make sure refugee voices stay at the table as this partnership moves forward.
