The team at 5 News would like to pay tribute to one of our own legends. One of our longest-serving camera operators, Mark Vinall, has sadly died at home after a long illness. Many of the excellent pictures you have seen on this programme over the past 20 years were filmed by Mark. He was brilliant at his job and a delight to work with. Mark loved 5 News and we loved him. We will miss him dearly.

The cathedral roof in my living room is taking a beating, pieces of roof landing on the floor and some water coming in. Wind blowing in thru the CLOSED windows enough to raise the curtains and it blew the plywood off one window we had nailed it down to.

UPDATE: Terrifying moment the gas truck exploded near the Concordia Bridge in Iztapalapa, Mexico City, Mexico this afternoon, sparking a fire and massive emergency response. Mexico City Mayor Clara Brugada said a preliminary report shows 57 people were injured, including 19 in serious condition with second and third degree burns.
