Lmao the Crimson Desert effect. When I said I didn’t like the game until I was 8+ hours in I ment it. Game is an absolute slog in the opening hours. Doesn’t mean everyone will magically start enjoying it but it certainly gets better as you go

@jake_theviking Controls take little to get used to, but once you get used to it, you get used to it. The longer I play, the more fluid I get with them. If you're looking for a compelling story, this might not be it. But if you love getting absolutely lost in the world, you'll love this

@fromsoftserve People saying you need to sheathe there, but nah. I fought there and I was playing as Damiane with Kliff by my side. When I finished off the enemies, Kliff was straight trying to attack those horses until I ran away and came back lol

this janky (and hilarious) open world interaction after beating up some enemies in crimson desert basically sums up a good chunk of my time with it

@MarathonDevTeam Seeing Cryo live today, it's probably for the best its weekend only LOL. But make ranked available all the time. You could also have varying windows for cryo so the people who can't play on weekends can still get in on the fun

Holy shit, are people still micro analyzing player counts for Marathon? Cryo is an endgame map, it's not designed to bring it new people because they won't be geared for it. You like the game, cool, play it. You hate the game, cool, don't play it.

Voy a comentar algo por si os sirve de ayuda, ya que estoy viendo comentarios de todo tipo acerca de Crimson Desert, yo llevo 100 horas así que os voy a intentar ayudar bajo mi experiencia. Mi consejo es que os toméis el juego con mucha más calma, no se puede rushear y tiene una curva de aprendizaje larga y elevada. Choca mucho con los juegos de hoy en día, no te da nada, te pide que te lo curres, qué seas observador y pongas atención. Qué es justo casi lo contrario a muchos de los juegos que tenemos hoy en día. Evidentemente esto puede no gustarte, es lógico y normal. Puede crearte frustración, está diseñado para ir desde abajo asentando las bases más simples como aprender a cocinar, explorar, questear, combatir, y todo empieza a escalar a los bestia con las horas. Acaba siendo un espectáculo increíble. Te sentirás cómodo con unos controles que al principio te parecían ortopédicos y horribles por el peso y la inercia del personaje. Pero para esto tienes que darle tiempo a desarrollarse a él y a adaptarte tú. Y en unas hora incluso dejarás de pensar en ellos y todos los movimientos te saldrán sin pensarlos. Incluso empezarás a ponerte creativo que es donde el juego brilla a nivel de combate, no es fácil de dominar, pero cuando lo haces empieza un Show de esgrima, llaves, esquivas, parrys, movimientos y golpes especiales que quedan impresionantes en pantalla y dan una satisfacción increíble, de hecho pronto empezaréis a ver vídeos de gente haciendo barbaridades estoy seguro. Sé que es mucho pediros que juguéis 10 o 15 horas "qué luego se pone bueno" yo odio los juegos así, las series que tardan 7 capítulos en molar, así que entendería que lo dejaseis más que nadie y que incluso me digáis nah esto no es para mi. Y tenéis razón. La historia es un trámite y una excusa para su combate, su mundo sandbox y la exploración, es normalita y a veces pesada, porque a través de ella te hace mil tutoriales para explicarte los sistemas, pero luego te suelta y es donde dices, vale ahora si. Y empiezan a presentarse misiones finales, con bosses, momentos épicos, músicote y momentos memorables con tus compañeros los melenas grises. He visto clips de gente yendo a matar un boss opcional con 2 horas de juego, que está diseñado para matarlo cuando llevas 7-10, estamparse y decir que el juego es un desastre. Es un Sandbox y es su naturaleza, te da la libertad de ir donde quieras y cuando quieras. Pero ahí también debe de estar tu percepción como jugador de que no deberías estar ahí. Y qué necesitas crecer, mejorar tu personaje y también tú con tu manera de combatir y de gestionar tus recursos. Pero es que durante 100 horas jugando en un discord con otros creadores y prensa, era increíble ver la evolución que teníamos del juego todos. La gente empezó super frustrada, y a los 2-3 días de repente empezabas a ver a muchos diciendo, "oh dios mirad este combate", "oh dios, este juego me tiene enganchadísimo", "buah habéis conseguido hacer este puzzle? estuve con papel y boli 30 minutos y lo conseguí, mirad os lo enseño". "Tios no puedo parar de pensar en Crimson Desert" Y se fue creando un ambiente donde la gente estaba flipando con el juego, ver esa evolución es la que me hace escribiros este tweet. Obviamente a no todo el mundo le entro el juego y le hizo clic, pero a otros muchos les dejo sin palabras y conectaron muchísimo. Yo llevo jugando prácticamente desde hace 10 años a Black Desert, y ya tengo una experiencia qué hizo que el juego no fuese tan duro para mi, y quizás por eso lo veía de otra manera a vosotros sin darme cuenta. Pero sigo pensando que este juego es una joya, qué le falta mucho por pulir, muchísimo quality of life, y hacer las primeras horas más llevaderas sería un punto necesario a mejorar por parte de Pearl Abyss. Pero no puedo mentiros tampoco y deciros que este juego es un desastre, porque no lo es. Y sobre todo estoy seguro de que para muchos se convertirá en uno de vuestros juegos favoritos, pero igual si no pasáis esa frontera que te pone el juego, os lo perdéis. No quiero generar polémica con este mensaje, ya sabéis que escribo muy poco en esta red social, lo justo y necesario, suelo hablar todo esto por stream y dar mis opiniones por allí. Esto es solo un mensaje de ánimo para que sepáis que aunque os cueste un poco, puede que a vosotros también os haga ese clic. Durante años defendí a capa y espada Cyberpunk, porque mucha gente lo abandonó por la polémica inicial de los bugs y la versión de consolas (Totalmente merecido y estoy de acuerdo con vosotros), pero detrás de todo eso había un juego boffff qué era la putísima polla. Para mi se convirtió en un top de mis juegos favoritos. Y ha sido muy bonito ver que al menos en mi comunidad a base de recomendarlo tanto ha ido viniendo la gente a verme muchos días y decirme "joder Reve le he dado una oportunidad a cyberpunk y es increíble" Y me hacía muy feliz ver esas reacciones de la gente. No estoy comparando a Crimson Desert con Cyberpunk, obviamente es mucho mejor CP, pero es un poco esa idea la que quiero transmitir, quizás algo que no te cuadra ahora, sea uno de tus juegos favoritos en unas horas. Quién sabe, yo llevo mucho jugado y se lo que se viene pero no os haré spoilers. Solo os aconsejo eso, darle un try un poco más a fondo, con espíritu de aprender, de prestar atención genuina, y verás como el juego despliega sus encantos ante ti. Y recordad, el juego te tiene que gustar a ti, sea bueno o malo, durante estos años mucha gente me ha dicho que ha intentado durante horas jugar a The Witcher 3 pero se aburre o le abruma y no puede con él, y yo siempre les contesto es normal tío. A mi me pasa con Red dead redemption, lo intento pero no consigo engancharme y se que es una obra maestra. A veces un juego no es para ti, y eso es lo más importante no la nota que le den. Solo eso, un abrazo y ya me contaréis :) (perdón por la chapa lol)

@Protostar Dude I'm so jealous. I have a 13900k and I just don't wanna have to upgrade to that CPU cuz I'll also have to upgrade my motherboard and RAM. It's basically another PC lol

Ok so update, So upgrading from intel i9 13900k to the amd 9950x3d (with nvidia 4080 founders) I am very solidly getting 160-210 fps on each map, usually at the 200 range and then it will sometimes dip to the 160ish range (esp with rain etc) I had to set core affinity in processlasso to just use the 3d core ccd as that jumped my frames from 120-140 to 200 because it reduces the latency caused by the two ccd design (i knew this going in but was fine with it cus i needed the workbench performance also) V happy overall and will likely have this chip for the next 4/5 years!!

Marathon really got me finally looking at upgrading my intel i9 13900k to an amd 9950x3d 😩 I need them extra frames when skinning runners boi, been feeling the limit of my 13th gen i9 for a good while in gaming tho

@Protostar @camdenpike I have the same CPU and a 4090 and am getting 70s-90s depending on map 😭. I do stream the game on discord and have shit running in the background too. But they are investigating low GPU and high CPU utilization

@camdenpike 4080 founders, im getting 80-120 at 1440p dependant on map and area, want 165+ baseline. Settings at a custom mix of low for intensive things and high for things that werent affecting fps (not many settings in this game actually change the fps that much)

@HazelSoSlay I feel like free kits should only be a thing when your vault value is below a certain threshold maybe...or if the value of the guns in your vault is below a threshold in case you have a shit ton of really good mats lol

my hottest marathon take rn is that i think free kits are entirely too common and need to be reined in for the betterment of the game

Sony’s gotta back Marathon for the long term. It’s a genuinely good game, has a unique place in the market, has a core fanbase already doing everything from fan art to cosplay. Rare new (“new”) IP win on those fronts It’s pretty brutally hard, but that’s part of the reason it stands out. Playerbase is not gonna be mainstream blockbuster level, clearly, but at this point you have to let one of these survive and build in time. Marathon is a good pick for that
