At dinner, I asked a couple to imagine discovering that their partner had used AI to simulate an argument until it found the words that would change their partners mind. On a betrayal scale from 0 to 10, they said it was a 3. I said it was a 10. What number would you give it?

Why do all young people prefer back of house jobs to front facing, hospitality jobs nowaways? It used to be the complete opposite. Would love to hear some theories.

@atacostsubstack Seems to be true in banking as well. The bank I work for has several younger employees who moved from branches to back office roles. I'm 46, and I considered a back office role but ultimately chose to stay in the branch. And now I'm a Branch Manager.

Would be useful for someone with the Pelicans to address this. It's limiting cap flexibility for what seems like incompetence or ignorance of the CBA. If it's because Jordan commanded a second guaranteed year in the open market, that's something Dumars should come out and say.
Fritz Alcindor Jr.@FritzHandles

New Orleans Pelicans have seemed to make an unforced error. They signed DeAndre Jordan to multiple years. They are unable to apply the 10-year veteran minimum subsidy. This is where they would be responsible $2,449,421 on the cap sheet and the NBA would bring Jordans salary up to $3.9M. Since this is only eligible on 1-year deals New Orleans is on the hook for the entire salary for both years.

This is Dejounte Murray, in Atlanta, in games Trae didn't play. Nearly 40 games. No, I don't expect him to put up close to these numbers this year, mostly due to how many guys need/want the ball in New Orleans. But, he is capable of this on any given night, and the hope is that he can play like this in spurts but lower the overall usage and give more energy to the defensive side, while also increasing his efficiency As I said the other day, I think he is currently the Pelicans best overall player, and he will show that this upcoming year

Dean Wade has officially put pen to paper on his 4-year, $39M deal with the 76ers, his agents Adam Papas and Austin Walton of NEXT Sports told @ClutchPoints. The first three years of his deal are guaranteed, and the 2029-30 season is partially guaranteed for about $2M.

That massive fireworks show in D.C. shot 850k fireworks. It probably could have been 1 million fireworks, but the money saved from decreasing the amount was used to bribe FIFA on Balogun.

@atacostsubstack Which is why one of them needs to be traded. And one of Trey or Herb. And Murray. Too redundant at several positions. Need to run with Fears, Queen, Bey, whoever they keep out of Herb or Trey, and find a capable center.

Queen is a 4 in the NBA, and always will be. Sure, he can play spot minutes as a small ball 5 but he will never be able to protect the rim or rebound in heavy traffic the way a 5 needs to. So, either Zion becomes a two or three level scoring wing or those two are doomed to be terrible together The only way they could work is if both extend their range and they play next to a true 5
