For the last six weeks, Zohran Mamdani brought disgruntled nyc renters together. He says their testimonies will shape city policy. Here’s one of the testimonies I heard. Abagail and her roommates pay $900 a month TOTAL for their 3 bedroom Brooklyn apartment. She tells me the ceiling is caving in, there’s rats, etc. The normal 3 bedroom apartment goes for $4,892 a month. She and others hope Mamdani will keep his promise to crack down on “bad landlords.”
