@CreatureAuthor My oldest used to say “happy New Year’s Day” rather than Happy Birthday. I put that in my book because I can make it make sense in sci-fi. Zero plot impact. +1000’s for personal meaning.

What holidays did you include in your WIP? Are they real ones or are made up for the story? And on a scale of 1-10, how important is it to the plot?

@HDunn_Writer For me the question is whether I am satisfied and can be proud of what I’ve produced. There is always more you can do but at some point you have to let go and release it to the wild.

If an indie/self pub book is "just alright" - should we still publish it?

What is your preferred ratio of “do deep research” to “make stuff up on the fly” so the story works? Asking for a friend.

@SDDonovan Sometimes I have to push through, even if I only get a hundred words down. Keep pressing the keys every day whether you feel it or not. I can sometimes break the block by reframing. Maybe the scene I’m stuck on isn’t needed or needs to be from a different POV.

I keep working on different WIPS because I just can't seem to get anything written. How do you guys deal with writer's block?

Well intended beta reader just suggested I take out my properly placed emdash because AI uses a lot of emdashes. You will have to PRY THOSE OUT OF MY COLD, DEAD HANDS. I had to study to understand where they go, dangit! 😭

I wrote 1300 words today, bringing my total word count for book 2 to 9383! Got almost a full day of writing to look forward to tomorrow, so stoked about that! And I pencilled in Joe Requeza, the cover artist! Yeah, book 2 is gonna be a banger. So. Excited. How was your day?
