Kamala Harris isn’t running a presidential campaign. She’s producing a movie. Everything is scripted everywhere she goes. She’s fundamentally a fake person who changes her tune depending on what audience she’s in front of.

You know what really bothers me about Tim Walz? When the US Marine Corps asked me to go to Iraq to serve my country, I did it. When Tim Walz was asked by his country to go to Iraq, he dropped out of the Army and allowed his unit to go without him. I think that's shameful.

Heinrich and Tester seem to have adopted this view: Show me, don't tell me: a fit and capable presidential candidate determined to prove he is not feeble and diminished would be out much more frequently in more demanding, unscripted settings. His failure to do so cannot be chalked up to “bad staff.” Democrats are not unreasonable in concluding he is not doing these things because he cannot. Therefore, Democrats who want to move the process along should lay down some markers. They could, for example, join Rep. James E. Clyburn (S.C.) and other Democrats in demanding that Biden do town halls, news conferences and tough interviews on a consistent basis. Giving him a concrete deadline to show he is capable of those tasks and can return to pre-debate polling could move the situation to a decision point.wapo.st/4cIjrWW

@NormOrnstein Steve Bannon figured out how to weaponize the NYT against Hillary. Since then, it has never been the same with its willingness to overindex negative stories to “balance” out its coverage of negative stories on the right. Sorry Norm.

I have been plenty tough on the New York Times for its coverage of Trump and the threat to democracy. But with pieces like the one on Sam Alito‘s stop the steal flag, and so many more, it demonstrates repeatedly why it is the best newspaper in the world. Which is why we have to hold it to a higher standard.
