I've been a Chairman at every level, from local to national, and I've never seen Republicans dominating on voter registration like we are now. That, paired with President Trump barnstorming the country and our voters showing up in November, is how we are going to win.

🚨 HOLY SMOKES. Trump Education Sec. Linda McMahon just found out that DEAD PEOPLE were getting student loans from the federal government BILLIONS of dollars are now being saved. "There were BOTS, ghost students, dead people getting these loans. We enforced and tweaked the entire system so we have real-time fraud identity now." Finally, you have to actually PROVE you're a real person. Unbelievable this was not already the case!

I’m a grower, still. Barely. I’m one of very few who are left at the northern end of the citrus belt. I have downsized by half, and am moving away from commodity citrus production into smaller specialty markets. Without scale (~1000 acres), mitigating HLB kills any hope for profit. Only big corporate groves are still profitable. I’ll never let the land go. But citrus has been a losing venture for almost 20 years now. It’s a shame. These groves more than sent me to college. Now, they cost me thousands in losses every year. I wouldn’t survive if farming were my only business.

Florida’s legendary orange groves are rapidly vanishing, and many fear they may never recover. Thirty years ago, the state produced roughly 225 million boxes of oranges. This season, the U.S. Department of Agriculture forecasts only about 12 million boxes — a staggering 95% decline in just one generation. The primary culprit is citrus greening (Huanglongbing), a devastating bacterial disease spread by the Asian citrus psyllid. Once infected, trees slowly decline, producing bitter, misshapen, and often partially green fruit before eventually dying. There is still no cure. Compounding the crisis are increasingly powerful hurricanes, which destroy trees, break branches, strip fruit, and demolish expensive protective screenhouses that cost up to $45,000 per acre. Many struggling growers are selling their land to real estate developers. Once converted into housing, roads, or commercial projects, those groves are gone forever. Florida orange juice once dominated American breakfast tables. Today, Brazil produces roughly 70% of the world’s orange juice supply, while the U.S. share has shrunk dramatically. Scientists are working urgently on disease-resistant varieties, but after more than two decades of relentless decline, many in the industry worry that the golden era of Florida oranges — once a defining symbol of the state — may never fully return. [WLRN, “The fruit that made Florida is quickly disappearing” (March 2026)]

@BoyForida @Rainmaker1973 @GaryRCottingham I can't even tell you how many orange groves sold out to developers. It's disgusting. I lived in FL for 34yrs and I saw the dramatic sellout by growers. Developers OWN FLORIDA and it's politicians. And all that time? The growers were getting tax breaks beyond belief.

Trump's ear didn't heal in 2 weeks from a gunshot wound, because he wasn't shot. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

@Logically_JC Wow. Over 60% of members of Congress are millionaires. Less than 10% of their constituents are millionaires. More proof who Congress truly represents and it ain't the 90% plus of non millionaire Americans.

@micyoung75 This should not have happened. Predatory loans should not have been allowed to happen in the first place. Biden's relief plan should have been allowed to stay in place. Republicans are amongst the worst humans ever.

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York reported Tuesday that 2.6 million student loan borrowers fell into default in the first quarter of 2026. That follows 1 million in the fourth quarter of 2025. Three and a half million people in two quarters. The researchers also warned a second wave is coming. The Biden-era SAVE plan - which held millions of borrowers in income-driven repayment rather than delinquency - was killed by a federal appeals court earlier this year. Those borrowers face repayment now with no safety net under them. The NY Fed said the ripples could "reverberate through the credit space." The defaults are concentrated in Southern states and older borrowers - people who were current on their loans before the pandemic and could not get back on their feet when relief ended. Earlier this week the administration asked Congress for $1.5 trillion for defense. The promotional video had very good graphics. The 3.6 million people who defaulted in two quarters did not appear in it.

2.6 million student loan borrowers fell into default during the first quarter of 2026. If that doesn't prove student debt is a systemic issue, we don't know what does. Read more below 👇 cnbc.com/2026/05/12/stu…
