I am a high school chemistry teacher. For years, I encountered students who did not know their multiplication tables and it interfered with their ability to understand chemistry. This year, I decided to take matters into my own hands. ⬇️

If you have kids: do you ever regret having them? If you don’t have kids: do you ever regret not having them? I assume I know what most of the responses are gonna be, but curious to see anyway

Guh. You know how much I respect you. And it’s hard to understand if you don’t interact with the Deaf community. But faces aren’t for conveying expressions. We have no voices. We channel our “accent” energy elsewhere. The more “Deaf” a person is, the more they rely on face expressions to communicate grammar and the less they rely on hand motions. If you look at my videos, I use a lot more hand motions and a lot less face expressions because I learned sign later in life. But a really Deaf person uses whole body motion including face and body because they think in terms of visual 3D space rather than “language” as a sequence of “words.” And this is the result. The reason interpreters are heading down this path is because, ironically, real-time captioning is reducing the need for those who understand English well and pushing the need for interpreters towards those who are linguistically deprived. And many many of those “linguistically deprived” Deaf do exist as a result of not hearing the million words per year that hearing babies get. They don’t miss all that and then magically learn to read at age 5. They just don’t. Long story short, the interpreter is being accurate by a very “Deaf” standard which involves full-body spatial movement of which everyone should expect more for the above reasons.

@gummibear737 I mean he was originally filming from a safe distance. It’s this idiot agent that loses it and starts going after the women and shoving them to the ground. It was unnecessary to spray this guy in the face then take him down. This is so disturbing

I'll leave the debate over whether this was a good shoot to people who understand these situations better than me But what's clear to me is that Democrats are creating these extremely dangerous situations for political gain They want martyrs

🚨#BREAKING: New video footage has emerged that appears to show three new things we didn't know before: 1) It appears from the new footage that the man who was shot, ASSAULTED A WOMAN 2) It is now very clear that a federal agent sees something that makes him QUICKLY pull his weapon 3) It is clear the man is still fighting and moving after we hear the first shot fire... so it's very unclear who fired the first shot

@medicmatt203 Given the state vs federal conflict almost impossible to say. In a normal world, I’d expect charges within 2 weeks, initial hearing in that week, then the whole proceedings maybe across a 3-6 months. But now, I’m not sure we see justice until the next administration.

I see a lot of people still arguing about the shooting by asking: “Did he fear for his life when he pulled the trigger?” And that is NOT how this case will be decided. There are two options here: 1) He had jurisdiction Or 2) He did not have jurisdiction. Let’s start with #2: If he did not have jurisdiction, (which is the case under Title 8, Section 1357), then the fact he was an officer was irrelevant. You would treat this like a case of a civilian shooting a civilian, in which case he had no right to hold her at gunpoint. Then the case is clear. But what if he DID have jurisdiction: Then we come to the same analysis we see in entrapment cases. In violence we call it “Officer Created Jeopardy” These are cases when officers create a situation that causes violence or is likely to cause them harm, and use it as an excuse to justify their violence. ICE had repeatedly used this practice back in 2014 and was called out for it in the articles below. So the only part that is debatable is jurisdiction, and that will determine HOW this case is tried. But the outcome will be the same. He created the issue. He is culpable.
