1-year ago today, @SecWar directed @DeptofWar to rapidly reinstate individuals impacted by the COVID-19 vaccine mandate. We are proud to have welcomed back 104 (and counting) brave warriors since then. Nicholas Tordoff is one of them. Corporal Tordoff, an Aircraft Structural Mechanic, was involuntarily separated on July 7, 2022, after filing a religious exemption for the COVID-19 vaccine. Following the release of EO 14184, he reached out to the @USMC to pursue reinstatement. The @MCRCPAO & COVID-19 Reinstatement Cell guided him through the process, and on July 24, 2025, he was reinstated, promoted to Sergeant & returned to active duty. His rank was backdated to February 1, 2022, and he received both backpay & duty station preference. Said Sergeant Tordoff, “I always wanted to be a Marine, and after earning the title, I knew this is what I wanted to do until retirement. When the option of returning was available, I didn’t have to think twice. I thank the Lord for this opportunity for me and my family.” Thank you for your service & dedication, Sergeant Tordoff. @miles_commodore My grandfather purchased his house on Long Island in 1967 for $17,000. At that time, he was a baggage loader at JFK making about $17,000 annually with my grandmother staying at home raising my dad and soon to be 2 more kids That same house costs about $17,000 a year in tax now..

My dad sold the house I grew up in back in 1999. It's 60 years old, 2,500 SF, on a third of an acre on Long Island NY. If he owned it today the property taxes would be about $2,600. Not bad right? The problem is that's per month not per year. Yup, 33K a year in property taxes!

The cost of 2 Powerwalls alone with no other wiring, equipment, or the Gateway is going to be $20,000 after shipping. The rest of the wiring and equipment will run you another 2-4k depending on how far the run is. That sounds like a standard cost. You should reach out to Tekton Electric or Trout Electric. They are both great companies in California!

I’m from the trades, the quotes I’m getting to install them are 30k for 2 power walls. As a business owner, I am well aware of the profit margins necessary. The quotes are effectively price gouging and the ROI just doesn’t pencil. I’m all for making a profit. But it is scaring off so many people from enjoying the benefits of decoupling from the grid.

True, install a @Tesla Powerwall to have uninterrupted power for your house. When your utility goes down, you will be one of the few in your neighborhood with working lights, working refrigerator and able to charge all your devices.

@RealJamieM @elonmusk @Tesla I haven’t seen your quotes, but the rave about electricians making good money is real! Most licensed electrical contractors have industry standard pricing.

@elonmusk @Tesla The only issue is, your subcontractors are ripping us off in California. I’d love to install 2 in my home and at my business, but they want 2x the cost to install it. The labor costs are making these installations cost prohibiting.

I just left a customer mid quote. Simple tree trimming job but the guy was super difficult from the moment I walked up. Complained the entire time I was there and was very condescending. I simply told him I wasn’t a good fit for his needs and walked back to my truck. I’m busy enough not to have to deal with difficult people and I’m very thankful for that.
