@Sal68622819 @KatieMiller That is very interesting - can you send the links to the sources that you used to draw this conclusion so I can evaluate myself?

@KatieMiller That’s because a lot of the coal fired generation plants are shut down. Solar panels are more toxic than coal fired generation plants if you don’t believe me do your research, the new green scam is exactly what it is, a way for politicians to line their pockets! Toxic chemicals!

Solar met 75% of global electricity demand growth in 2025. Clean power covered all new demand, so fossil generation didn’t rise for the first time since 2020. Solar electricity is on track to become by far the biggest source of power.

@skdh I suppose the 'speed of dark' must be faster than the speed of light, because when you switch the light on, the dark is always able to get out of the way??

Dark spots break speed-of-light limit. Kind of. Researchers from Technion in Israel have filmed the motion of tiny dark spots that move faster than light. These dark spots are places where the light wave’s intensity drops to zero due to interference. They had the light propagate on a material (boron nitride) where it couples to the vibrations of the material. Then they measured the speed with ultrafast electron microscopy to confirm that it broke the speed of light limit. Concretely, they measured that the dark spots moved at 1.04 times the speed of light in vacuum. This is possible because the dark spots themselves are patterns, and not physical objects. They can move faster than light just like the image of a laser pointer, swept across a distant surface, can move faster than light: Because the image is not a physical object, it is just a pattern formed from physical objects which themselves obey the speed of light limit. So this is a very neat demonstration, but it does not violate any known physical principle and no, it does not allow us to send information faster than light.

@Bella6Michelle @JamesTate121 Trump said, as a criticism of Obama, that he would be 'too busy to play golf'. He then proceeded to spend circa $150M of tax payers money to play golf whilst in office. Just saying

The United Auto Workers union throws down the gauntlet to Donald Trump by challenging him to work a 12 hour shift after he disparagingly says a “child” could do their job. “I want to see you assemble parts ‘out of a box’ for 12 hours,” said union member Dawnya Ferdinansen in a newly released video. “Until you actually work a manual labor job, you keep the name of the UAW out of your mouth.” “Solidarity y’all!” she added. Trump made his offensive remarks during an interview at the Economic Club of Chicago— “They build everything in Germany, and then they assemble it here,” he said. “They take them out of a box and they assemble them. We could have our child do it.” Clearly, Trump is bitter against the UAW for endorsing Kamala Harris. “Donald Trump is a billionaire who’s never worked a real job in his life,” said UAW President Shawn Fain. “He doesn’t know the first thing about hard work, and he wouldn’t last a day in an auto plant,” he added. “He isn’t fit to be an autoworker, and he certainly isn’t fit to be the President.” Oompa-Loompa

@autocorrect2_0 @DW2025X In fairness, the scientific method of hypothesis, observation, modelling and deductive reasoning didn't really exist until 1300's & was used more extensively from 1600's. This has given us all our wisdom about the world. I chose this path, because it demonstrably works!

According to the Bible, unbelievers reject faith because their spiritual understanding is darkened, they love sin more than light, or they rely on human wisdom rather than God’s Spirit. Key reasons include spiritual blindness (2 Cor 4:4), hardened hearts (Heb 3:12), and direct rebellion against God’s authority (Rom 1:18).   Key Biblical Reasons for Rejecting Belief: •Spiritual Blindness & Lack of Understanding: The natural person cannot understand spiritual truths because they are spiritually discerned (1 Corinthians 2:14). Satan is also described as blinding the minds of unbelievers (2 Corinthians 4:4). •Love of Darkness/Sin: People often reject the light because they prefer to continue in their sinful ways, fearing their works will be exposed (John 3:19–20). •Hardness of Heart: Unbelief is often rooted in a "deceitful heart" that resists the prompting of the Holy Spirit (Hebrews 3:12, Acts 7:51). •Reliance on Human Wisdom: The gospel appears as foolishness to those relying on intellectualism or worldly wisdom (1 Corinthians 1:18, 21). •Refusal to Submit: Many prefer to establish their own righteousness rather than submitting to God's standard (Romans 10:3, Romans 1:21).
Key Bible Verses: •1 Corinthians 2:14: "The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God..." •John 3:19: "...people loved the darkness rather than the light..." •2 Corinthians 4:4: "...the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers..." •Romans 1:21: "...their foolish hearts were darkened

The distance to the sun varies annually between 91.5 and 94.6 million miles. Your argument of 1 mile closer/further away is wrong. Sorry

So let’s just get this crystal clear. If somebody is trying to manufacture a laptop in the U.S., the components that they import are going to be tariffed at 145%. But if somebody simply makes the laptop entirely in China, they are fully tariff free? And this is all to bring manufacturing back to the U.S.?

Education's biggest secret that lies in plain sight is this: the culture of many schools, and the outcomes of their students, is dominated by the social strata and economic circumstances of the cohort's families. Put simply, children from circumstances of poverty, neglect, abuse, lack etc are disproportionately exposed to risk factors that reduce and frustrate their opportunities to flourish at school and in life. This isn't (or shouldn't be) a controversial thing to say. 🧵 Of course this is probability not destiny: kids with every advantage can do badly. Children with nothing sometimes win everything. But when it comes to games of chance, the house usually wins. Why do most kids grade so well in an independent school? It's not because of the teaching, which is very, very similar to state ed teaching. It's largely because of the social, cultural and educational capital inherited and absorbed from the home environment. Why do kids do so well in a grammar school? Because they are largely captured from the most able and academic cohort of children. Guess what happens when you put them all in one place? They do rather well. FANCY THAT.
