@atmedley He will be good. Reminds me a lot of Aaron Ashby oddly enough. Might not be a great starter, but his stuff is disgusting and could see him being a key bullpen piece later in the year. His ERA too is a bit untelling of how good he’s been recently… usually just a blow up inning

@ronrule @EricJBott Local politicians would probably make it a TIF/TID district so all taxes would go back to the developers for the next 20 years.

The Box Elder County budget is ~$80 million. Property tax where O’Leary wants to build is currently $250k/yr. Once the data center is built, it will be $100 million/yr. Would you support a data center if it ELIMINATED your property taxes and didn’t increase energy/water costs?

🚨 AWESOME! President Trump has infuriated Democrats again by fixing the old, BROKEN floor of the walkway to the Oval Office — going from full-blown dilapidated to glossy and HIGH QUALITY This is what having a builder-in-chief looks like. "The old, broken, slate floor on the Walkway going to the Oval Office from the White House. The new granite floor replacing the old slate going to the Oval! President DONALD J. TRUMP"

@nigelreynolds @EricLDaugh Please find these children who are going without food. If they exist, we need to point their parents in the direction of their local social services department so they can enroll in SNAP benefits and any of the many other programs for which they might qualify.

@EricLDaugh Yet children are going without food and medical costs have gone through the roof so very few can afford to get treatment. But trumps floor looks good as does his personal swimming pool outside so the old Hippo can go for a swim.

@wiz_political @SteveAustinWI Private businesses must do this periodically when things get tight. They breathe in and breathe out. Public entities seem to just breathe in.

When Musk took over Twitter it had 7,000 employees. He immediately cut it to 2,000. There were a few early bumps but the site didn't collapse. Public schools should be given a mandate to reduce administrator headcount by 50%. Would solve all funding issues overnight.
The Bouyant C-R-A-I-G@CLennyWiebs

@SteveAustinWI Doesn’t matter. Dems will say we still need more teachers. It stopped being about educating kids a long time ago. It’s a jobs program for mediocre adults. Plain & simple

@jwigderson @joeminocqua I didn’t know that Tom Tiffany controlled the Democrats in the Wisconsin Senate. I would have thought that our current governor would be working with them, not our future governor.

Just leaving Milwaukee after the 150 year Anniversary celebration of Jockey. Not too bad for a small company from Kenosha. I forgot how enjoyable Milwaukee is now that I don’t have to get Yount, Molitor, cooper, Ogilvie, etc out. Unbelievable new convention center with the friendliest people ever.

@SteveAustinWI @outdoorswi1 The one good thing about the school funding that was proposed was the it was being distributed on a straight per student basis. Which is how all school funding should be distributed.

Wisconsin is withering away. It's heartbreaking.
Quinton Klabon@GhaleonQ

@marcportermagee @AlecMacGillis It is going to be far more than this, by the way. For Wisconsin, NCES predicted -4.6% by September 2031. It was -3.8% by September 2025! Wisconsin is predicting -12.5% by September 2031, almost triple NCES.

89/ @GovTimWalz, @AGEllison & @MNCourts are totally serious about gun crime. Larry Bernard Clark, Jr, 05/30/2003, of north Minneapolis was convicted last year for being in possession of a machine gun (Glock with an auto sear). He was tossed a plea deal by Joseph Paquette from @HennepinAtty @MaryMoriarty's office offering a stay of imposition (no prison), probation, and 20 days of picking up trash in the park on STS. Judge Kerry Meyer thought that sentence was way too harsh and reduced his STS to 11 days of picking up trash and spun him out the door. Clark has violated probation at least twice since his fake sentencing. Judges Julie Allyn and Hilary Caligiuri separately continued Clark's stay of imposition and probation after each violation and spun him back out the door. NOW: Clark was picked up on another felony probation violation warrant in the case this morning. How many spins?? Pathetic. BTW, @DMNnews didn't charge him federally after all the tough talk of cracking down on machine gun possession.

@yount1130 Seriously curious. Who do you consider the biggest loser? I think the deal was horrible bc I can not agree to give an additional dime- much less 50 million more to failing schools like MPS. But interested in your take.

Toy Evers failed here. He either didn't count votes ahead of time, or more likely, he couldn't convince a single Senate Democrat to follow his lead on the tax deal. But he's not the biggest loser from last night's vote.
