Today we announce Thrive Eternal, a permanent capital holding company that will be concentrated in a small number of assets that we can own and steward over many decades. Across Thrive Capital and Thrive Holdings, we are building and investing through a moment of exponential change; backing emerging technologies, the infrastructure that powers them, and the businesses they can transform. Increasingly, we see a fourth category. These are assets with qualities that cannot be replicated by technology. Iconic franchises and cultural institutions rooted in tradition, identity, and shared experience. In a world shaped by abundant intelligence where creation scales and distribution fragments, we believe they will matter even more. Thrive Eternal is built on the belief that the most enduring of these assets share common characteristics: they benefit from long-term stewardship, they compound through cultural resonance, and they are enhanced by technology rather than displaced by it. Our work at Thrive has always been informed and inspired by a deep appreciation for product, brand, and the ways in which consumers form lasting relationships with the things they love. We have been building towards this for a long time. Our first partnership is expected to be with the San Francisco Giants - an institution built on more than a century of shared identity and community, and among the most iconic sports franchises in America. We have reached an agreement, subject to league approval, to acquire an ownership stake. We feel privileged by the opportunity to be long-term partners to the Giants.

If you want to build wealth, chase jobs that pay you based on output, not input High paying jobs require you to work when needed. Being an entrepreneur means you work when needed Concept of a 9-5 does not exist for these people. The puck stops with you, regardless of whether you are sick or on vacation What matters is execution and results, not the time you spend. Output is what gets you paid the big dollars, not the input

@GabbbarSingh No screen and much longer battery life than Apple Watch are real positives. Why are you taking it off for bathing? Don’t need to

5 days of wearing the WHOOP band. Initial reactions: 1) It’s very convenient to wear, it has no display, I have never taken it off, except for bathing. I hate wrist watches, yet this doesn’t bother even during sleeping. 2) It takes its own time. Doesn’t give you anything meaningful for the first 7 days. It calibrates. Notices trend. Sleep monitoring is good. 3) It’s expensive. People pay for accuracy of data + brand. (All cricket players wear it). It does get noticed in public, given Apple Watches have been commoditised. 4) Is it worth? Debatable. Most people (non athletes) need a marker of health, kind of a reassurance, that they are doing fine. And to push them do be disciplined. All this measurement, without paranoia, and without wearing a brick on your wrist. If anything else can give u this at a lesser cost, go for it.

D is the right answer: Not only does it include Butter chicken, Pad Thai, Dim Sum, Pho, Ramen noodles, and Korean BBQ, it also includes Kebab, Baclava, Shawarma and Falafel… AND… if you zoom in, a little bit of Sicilian pasta, pizza, Greek salad and Moussaka. Seal the deal with a nice New Zealand rack of lamb, a glass of Shiraz and Pavlova for dessert.

I really hope Man Utd qualify for the UCL, just for people like Paul Scholes — who left his Oldham Athletic job via WhatsApp text message — to shut up. In March 2019, Scholes resigned as the manager of Oldham Athletic after 31 days. He didn’t speak to anyone on the board before his decision. He only sent a WhatsApp message to the club’s Chairman at the time (not sure if he still is). The same man jumped to the front of the crying queue to criticise Carrick for a game that could have bounced either ways. I think Carrick has done extremely well and has steadied the ship at Man Utd. Even if they choose another manager at the end of the season, he’ll be credited for balancing the wheel. Losing at Newcastle isn’t anything strange for a team at Man Utd’s current level. But look at the bigger picture. He’s given the club a cause to be hopeful. And a solid platform to invest on better players in the summer because they’ll make elite European football and earn decent money. He met them at 6th. People like Scholes live in their bubble where they can’t skip past their old glory days for a moment. Man Utd are not the same. And failing to support a good manager isn’t going to get them back to the good times. From Roy Keane to Gary Neville and Paul Scholes, they’ve all tasted management and seen how easy it is. That’s why they’ve stuck to punditry which is more difficult. Lol. I understand that they’re paid to talk, but they’re not paid to be disingenuous. As much as I want nightmares at The Theatre of Dreams, I like Carrick and I hope he succeeds in his quest for third place.

Michael Carrick was unemployed and interviewing Thomas Frank for Amazon Prime at the beginning of the season. Fast forward 6 months and he’s beaten him 2-0 as Manchester United manager. Football is the craziest sport in the world.
