I just wanted to say thanks on Christmas Eve to the pharmacist who honoured our 5 pm appointment even though she hadn't eaten, then looked at the folks hovering outside hoping for a walk in, and wearily opened another box of Pfizer. True Christmas hero for real.

@RichNixon2666 @TheGameSheet I would say that an extra $50 to a pharmacist vs being home for Christmas Eve is not doing it for the money. Sure, they are doing their job...but hourly people also get breaks and get to go home on time.

@SalimSivaad @RichNixon2666 @TheGameSheet Most pharms are paid by the hour. We are also exempt from labour laws so no OT, No mandatory breaks etc. Yes we are professionals. Most workplaces don't treat us that way. Most pharmacies are understaffed and the conditions are horrific. I am lucky to work @ a rare great one.

@jkenney @Irondoon If you have them, why dont front line workers? Pharmacists havent seen any yet and nurses are told to wear for longer than they should or re-use!!!

@Irondoon Those comments seem to be about the national response, and national procurement. I’m referring to Alberta’s procurement, which has been amazing.

Alberta started increasing stockpiles of PPE & other key supplies late last year when rumours of COVID19 first started to spread. Thanks to Jitendra Prasad & his procurement team at AHS for their phenomenal work in making Alberta so well prepared! edmontonjournal.com/opinion/column…

You can’t wear it if you don’t have it! Whoever sends out these messages @AHS_media @shandro know that community @ABPharmacists have been waiting for OVER 2 wks for AHS to ship PPE to them! They cannot order their own PPE as their wholesalers are sending all PPE to hospitals!

We have yet to see any PPE for @ABPharmacists community Pharmacy teams. This is NOT reassuring to see this tweet and be waiting 2 weeks since we were promised to get some. @jkenney @shandro @GlennVanDijken
