@StuartBlitz Since it’s only for Canada and the price of semaglutide in Canada is already so low, I would be surprised if Canadian generics hurt their business much

Why don’t hospitals setup food/concessions with pricing like at sporting events? $20 for a burger, $18 for a salad, $6 for a water. Think about how they could improve margins.

@nikillinit Yes, there have been studies. Joy Milne (an RN) smelled Parkinson’s on her husband (an anesthesiologist) before he was diagnosed… she then went on to correctly identify 12/12 patients in a clinical study (including one that wasn’t even diagnosed yet) npr.org/sections/healt…

i feel like I keep seeing more articles/reddit posts about people being able to “smell” different diseases (the one below is about cancer, and have seen ones previously about neurodegenerative disorders). Lots of comments here talk about a whole host of other things people claim to be able to smell - and there seems to be some plausibility here has anyone actually run a study that validates whether these are real or not?

We @sequoia are thrilled to announce our partnership with Freed. @getfreedai is @ErezDruk's love letter to his wife. She loves taking care of her patients but her days, like those of many other clinicians, were weighed down by administrative burden. Freed is solving that for her and tens of thousands of other physicians around the country so that they can get precious time back to spend with patients and loved ones. @jesskah and I are proud to support Freed's journey with @danielgross, @jkauf_mann, @gokulr, Yonatan, and many more.

@pitdesi Great idea. I like traveling less than I used to because my sleep is so much worse. @eightsleep in every room. Great branding for them, too. Maybe they should build the hotels themselves

Idea: a hotel brand geared towards great sleep I get especially bad sleep when traveling (jet lag etc) and being alert is often even more important than usual So design a hotel around it: Soundproof rooms with warm lighting, blackout curtains, great bedding & mattresses with firmness options, weighted blankets for those who want them, individual temp control Provide sleep tracking, smart wake-up, soothing audio for those who want it Better nutrition in the restaurant, minibar with sleep oriented products (sleepy tea, etc) You can take it further with wellness- saunas and hot tubs, sleep focused massages, etc. I would stay!

@anothercohen Every man over 40 should be tested regularly for low T* Depending on the study, prevalence for men 40+ is as high as 40% in US (and increasing). @HoneHealth makes it easy to test and treat (when appropriate) with close monitoring to minimize side effects and optimize dose

There is absolutely no reason to setup a call a month out - this just means it's not important right now and that's totally cool and all good. Just ping in a month and we'll find time!

I’m pretty excited about my new angel investment. Tech friend said he had to manually take his data on a CD from one doctor to another. He had this amazing insight to create a cloud-based solution so data can just flow EMR to EMR. Seems like a $100B company. Anyone interested?

This is my recipe for the perfect gourmet protein bar—no compromises. 18g protein, 200 calories, 5 net carbs. No stevia, no sugar alcohols, no artificial anything. Just real ingredients. Easy to make. I made it over time with the help of an LLM. There are many variations on it. Let me know if you want me to share what specific ingredients I use for anything listed. Ultimate Chocolate-Nut Protein Bars (Makes 7 Bars) Per Bar Nutrition •Calories: ~200 kcal •Protein: ~18g •Net Carbs: ~5g Ingredients: •1 1/3 cups whey protein (unflavored) •1/4 cup Chocolate Naked PB Powder •1/2 cup crushed almonds •1/4 cup crushed cashews •1 3/4 tbsp soba cha (ground roasted buckwheat tea) •1/4 cup coconut milk powder •1/4 cup unsweetened almond butter (or peanut butter) •1/4 cup Ghirardelli 70% dark chocolate chips, melted •2 2/3 tbsp brown sugar monk fruit mimic •7/8 tbsp white sugar monk fruit mimic •7/8 tbsp goji berry powder •1/4 tsp salt •2 tbsp hot water (as needed for texture) Instructions: 1. Prepare Dry Ingredients: •In a large bowl, mix whey protein, Chocolate Naked PB Powder, crushed almonds, crushed cashews, soba cha, coconut milk powder, and salt. 2. Mix Sweeteners & Binding Agents: •In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar monk fruit mimic, white sugar monk fruit mimic, almond butter, and hot water into a smooth paste. 3. Combine & Form Dough: •Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mix. •Add melted dark chocolate chips, and mix thoroughly until a firm dough forms. •If it’s too dry, add ½ tbsp hot water at a time until it binds but isn’t sticky. 4. Shape the Bars: •Line a baking tray with parchment paper. •Divide the mixture into 7 equal bars (~1.5” x 3” each). •Press and shape them into bars with your hands or a flat spatula. 5. Set & Firm Up: •Refrigerate for 30-60 minutes until firm. •If you want them firmer, freeze for 10-15 minutes before eating. 6. Store: •Keep in the fridge for up to 7 days or freeze for 3 months. Why This Recipe Works: ✅ Exactly ~200 Calories Per Bar ✅ High Protein (~18g), Low Net Carbs (~5g) ✅ No Artificial Sweeteners or Sugar Alcohols ✅ Deep Chocolate Flavor with a Nutty Crunch ✅ Balanced Sweetness with a Touch of Caramel from the Brown Sugar Monk Fruit This is a legitimately gourmet protein bar designed for maximum nutrition and satisfaction.
Dan Go@CoachDanGo

Unpopular opinion 99% of protein bars are candy bars in disguise.

New study reveals a critical challenge: GLP-1 medications may increase total costs $11,200/patient over two years. With 54% of Americans having health coverage purchased by employers, this creates an ROI problem tied to falling employee tenures. Let's break it down 1/7

Seems like one of those tweets everyone agrees with but there's no movement to report results differently (or publicly) - But same is true for lawyers, doctors and lot of professions: we have no idea who is "good" relative to reputation.
Linda Xie@lindaxie

The really weird part about VC is that the feedback cycles are so long that people can build up reputation as being a popular or even good VC without actually having made any investments that return capital for the fund

@StuartBlitz Anesthesiology has benefited greatly by learning from aviation: checklists, simulations, briefings/debriefings, situational awareness, risk assessment, resource management, etc. There’s a lot healthcare can learn from aviation and other industries!

I think one industry that healthcare can learn from is aviation. Despite various incentives and companies, all accidents are thoroughly investigated and documented so *everyone* can learn why they happened. You rarely see the same accident cause ever again!
