@bearjew_aero @anewego @ok_post_guy Isnt that quote from over like 5 years ago? Yeah their overly optimistic mouthy CEO said something 4 years ago. I don’t really care for setting goalposts with timelines in this industry, but regardless of that yes they redefined their goals. Moon landing is just one goal.
English

@JacksonTavern @anewego @ok_post_guy It literally proves that SpaceX routinely set schedule deadlines that they couldn't meet with their current hardware so they continuously moved the goalposts to redefine success and failure. If they had the capability to do it, they would have. But they don't, so they haven't.

Worth pointing out that this is easily the most impressive space mission of the last 30+ years and the prime contractors for the rocket and crew module are Lockheed Martin and Airbus
But hey I'm sure spaceX is getting to Mars any day now

@BarackObama Still wondering what “hope and change” actually meant. Or “Audacity of Hope”. Seriously, what does that even mean?

Wisconsin Supreme Court justices have a profound responsibility: protecting the rights of the people and delivering on the promise of equal justice under the law.
Judge Chris Taylor is the only candidate running for Wisconsin’s Supreme Court with a proven record of delivering on that promise. I hope Wisconsin voters join me in supporting her candidacy for Wisconsin’s highest court.

@OVTweetmarck Either way, no one would have believed them. I think they did draw a different conclusion on the JFK assassination
English

This fact, alone, should be more than enough proof for any imbecile who doubts the moon landing. If there was any entity with both the motivation and the resources to show that the landing was fake, it was the Soviets. Yet they acknowledged it as real.
Chad Nixon Kettle@JacobA99
@disglobo @OVTweetmarck The Soviets tracked it the whole way and acknowledged the landing.

One question I always ask Christians that I have never gotten any reasonable answer for is …
If heaven involves perfect, unending happiness for the “saved”, how is it possible for them to experience that joy while retaining full knowledge of…and genuine love for…people they cared about who are were never saved and are suffering eternal torment in hell?
Alternatively, if God erases or suppresses those memories to preserve heavenly bliss, does this not compromise the authenticity of the personal identity of the “saved …and the very notion of a perfectly loving and just deity who’s willing to erase people’s memory of their own loved one?
These aren’t mundane questions.

Does heaven exist? If so, what would it actually take to get there?

@SenSanders I’ve never heard you once talk about making people healthier as a solution Bernie. It’s always just about using government to treat the unhealthy. Why is that? All you care about is how to pay for the care of people eating themselves to death. What is in it for the healthy?
English

Mr. President: I have a better idea. Instead of spending over a trillion dollars on never-ending wars abroad while plunging the working class into poverty here at home, let’s invest in universal childcare, Medicare for All and affordable housing.
America first!

Trump: We can't take care of daycare. We're a big country. We're fighting wars. It's not possible for us to take care of daycare, Medicaid, Medicare, all these things.

Hey dumbass. Immigrants pay more into our system than they take out.

@JoeEason1 @PebMet1 That’s fair. So many people on here do seem to rag on Elon’s companies irrationally though. It reminds me very much of what people were saying about Tesla in 2007ish. Now I see Tesla’s everywhere. And the big car companies even spent a fortune trying to copy him and failed.
English

@JacksonTavern @PebMet1 I'm not ragging on them, what they've built is seriously impressive and if starship does eventually deliver a heavy payload vehicle beyond earth orbit, that is the playbook for interplanetary exploration. But right now they cant provide that for Artemis
English

@peekgraphics @Tazerface16 Why exactly? It’s not 2007 anymore. Which company has he associated with that failed and lost a bunch of money? Which isn’t even a bad thing, many successful business men had failures.
English

@bearjew_aero @anewego @ok_post_guy That doesn’t prove anything. My point is if their goal was to merely have some humans doing a moon flyby, they could have probably done it by now. But they have bigger plans and aren’t rushing it. Also by the time they are ready, it won’t be humans. It will be robots.
English

@Jonesenin @Tazerface16 You really think SpaceX is a scam? And who are they scamming?
English

@JoeEason1 @PebMet1 True. I think people just love to rag on SpaceX like it’s a total failure. Mostly because of expected failures in Starship tests.
English

@JacksonTavern @PebMet1 Indeed... which are comparable in mass to dragon capsules and also in LEO. Orion is probably twice the mass and then some and going much further than LEO.
English

@PebMet1 It’s almost like they have different missions, huh? Also we should maybe hesitate to call this a success until the crew is home safe. We have watched NASA astronauts die on live TV multiple times.
English

@bearjew_aero @anewego @ok_post_guy The same amount they want to have. Zero. Also let’s not forget NASA has killed a lot of Astronauts. Just last year a few were stranded at ISS and saved by…you guessed it, SpaceX.
English

@anewego @ok_post_guy How many astronauts does SpaceX have on its way to the moon right now?
English

@ok_post_guy This great PR for NASA, assuming they make it home safe. But let’s not forget the shuttles we saw blow up live on TV with 7 people on board. Or that they had astronauts stranded on the space station last year that needed to be rescued by who again? Oh right, SpaceX
English

@ok_post_guy @TVDadsdotcom How the hell would a rocket booster make its way to the moon?
English

@TVDadsdotcom Oh wow is that happening on the moon?
English

@the_transit_guy I think we would just waste countless trillions on HSR only for FSD to make a leap and it’s all wasted. The future is probably just a bunch of Waymo’s, honestly. People will own cars if they want, but won’t be necessary. Maybe some carpooling. Traffic will be gone.
English

There is no reality in which this country can do amazing things like this and not be able to build incredible infrastructure like high speed rail and nuclear power.
Aaron Rupar@atrupar
Artemis II lifts off
English

@Narva_Anglo @the_transit_guy We need to see how effective full self-driving becomes before committing to HSR. If self-driving works our traffic problems go away and the existing infrastructure will work very well.
English

@the_transit_guy High speed rail is terrible if we dont have intra city public transit, which american can build but very few people use it... except wild vagrants.
I love HSR but lets be real about why it wont work in the US
English

@the_transit_guy I’m all with you on the Nuclear power. But this isn’t new tech with Artemis. It’s using launch tech from the shuttle days.
