@TheMuppetPastor I'm convinced social media has led to a spiritual obesity epidemic.

@imPenny2x It could be, but no slope is slippery enough so we'll never know.

@WassonWatch @ConceptualJames You’re skipping over the scene with Emeth the Calormene & Aslan.
Lewis is clearly saying that some Calormenes (Muslims) may be able to be saved.

English

Before the @ConceptualJames-was-right jar there was the C.S. Lewis-was-right jar.
In the last book of Lewis' Narnia series, The Last Battle, certain corrupt Narnians join forces with the Calormen from the South (representing Muslims), and they declare that they worship the same God! They combined the Narnian God, Aslan, with the Calormen God, Tash, and called him "Tashlan."
Of course, none of those involved in the lie really believed in any God, much less this new one of their own creation. They were all happy to make the compromise in order to consolidate their collective power.
The same is true today. Those who are pushing for Islamo-Catholicism are not true believers. They worship power, and they crave the power that comes with combining two such massive world religions.
In the end we know what happens to those wicked heretics. They learn that Tash is very real, and Aslan is very real. Tash is a demon who accepts these fools as a sacrifice to feed his thirst for blood.
The followers of Aslan meet him, and spend eternity in paradise.
Christians do not worship the Islamic God. Muslims do not worship the Christian God.
Choose this day whom you will serve. As for me and my house, we will worship the Lord.

@WassonWatch @ConceptualJames I bought a few extra copies of this in case the reprints get fixed or banned.
Not a tame book.

Dark MAGA had higher expectations and more inner frustration than mainline MAGA. They knew the machine would spit them out, as they always have, but at least for a few moments they had amplification.
But they were too radical for many - yet sorely missed.
And people are shocked that the folks who never thought they'd vote for Trump and suddenly did now trend towards true crime and other sensational entertainment? They never planned on committing to changing the country - it was all pure entertainment value.

@Scobleizer The wild thing is, with the sheer number of activities ai conversations have facilitated, it already acts like my boss. I do think most people will have AI bosses in five years.

Mocking christians doesnt disprove prophecy….it proves it.
The apostle Peter predicted exactly this attitude over 2000 years ago.
The Coming Day of the Lord:
2 Peter 3:3-4: “Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue just as they were from the beginning of creation.”
Youre mockery is the very scoffing the Bible said would mark the last days…so congrats on fulfilling prophecy while mocking it.
The “last days” didnt start in our day and age….they began with Jesus’s resurrection and the coming of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:17; Heb 1:2).
Thats when the clock started ticking….
Christians have been living in the last days for over 2000 years and are commanded to stay watchful because Jesus return will be sudden…..like a thief in the night (2 Pet 3:10; Matt 24:42-44).
Peter reveals that Gods timing isnt ours….its not even close to our timing.
2 Peter 3:8-9: “Do not overlook this one fact that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”
To God 2000 years is like two days. Hes not late…..Hes merciful deliberately giving people time to repent before judgment comes.
The Day of the Lord is called great and terrible for a reason so dont be fooled for Jesus isnt returning as a baby in a manger but as righteous Judge and King (Malachi 4:5).
Once the sky rips open and He appears in glory it will be too late to turn to Him as Savior. The door of mercy will close….just as it did with Noah’s Ark and there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth
Jesus gave us clear signs to watch for as the end of the age draws near….signs that are intensifying like birth pains right now (Matt 24; Luke 21).
And the ongoing mockery of the Day of the Lord is yet another sign that we are in the last days.

@Z33R0K @cyber_razz Wardialer. CCGMS. Regex on Ftpsearch to find secret folders. Usenet. Disable call waiting.
This was geeking out gen x. So many hours of my childhood waiting for downloads to complete and hope they weren't corrupted.
And so many floppies. Floppies everywhere.
English

@cyber_razz I pirated off of BBS.. Had a call list for different servers that specialized in certain games. That's right a Call list. I had to hone the fuckers to pirate shit
English

I was born in 2001, so I just missed Napster. But LimeWire? That was my childhood.
Picture this: you're 10 years old. You want to download "Hey Ya" by OutKast. You type it in. 47 results come back. Three of them are the actual song. The rest are things like "OutKast_HeyYa_Britney_Spears_Naked.exe" and a random Lithuanian polka cover.
And you still click on two of them because you're desperate.
You start the download at 9pm. By 1am, it's at 86%. Then your mom picks up the phone. BZZZZT. Gone. Start over.
When it finally finishes? The audio sounds like it was recorded inside a washing machine. But you burn it to a CD anyway and tell your friends you have the "exclusive underground version."
The family PC got slower every week. Pop-ups everywhere. One time a Vietnamese poker bot started greeting me at startup. We never fixed it. We just renamed the shortcut "System32" and pretended that helped.
Then the RIAA started suing everyone. Grandmas. Kids. That one neighbor who downloaded "Complicated" by Avril Lavigne 400 times. We got scared. Switched to private torrent sites with weird ratios and secret invites.
Streaming made me soft. Not gonna lie. Now I get mad if Spotify buffers for two seconds. Meanwhile 12-year-old me waited four hours for a 3-minute song and said "thank you."
LimeWire taught me patience, trust issues, and that any file with "No Virus" in the name definitely has three viruses.
Press F for the shared folder. We were chaos on dial-up. 💿

I like the variety of spool shorts also. Really gifted golden hour shooting across various periods. Some of these carry a lot of gravity.
Blending of romantic warmth and frigid sci-fi is a bold cliffhanger - works really well in short form, I think longform takes a little more work. Adventure Time did a really good job with it in the pillow fort episode "Puhoy" with Jonathan Frakes guest voicing Finn. I'd really like to see the concept fleshed out and complicated with the sci-fi and addiction elements.
Nostalgia as a drug is popular with pushers these days. AI does seem to offer endless injections.

"The Patchwright" by @Gossip_Goblin is without doubt the start of AI cinema. If you haven't seen it yet, head over to YouTube right now and watch this 20 minute sci-fi masterpiece.
You will be blown away.

@IsabellaMDeLuca Solid example. Had not seen that before. And no one spoke more highly of Providence than GW.
English

Example: The Apotheosis of George Washington— and it's painted right inside the U.S. Capitol.
It depicts Washington rising into the heavens, surrounded by clouds, radiant light, and almost angelic figures. He’s clearly framed in an exalted, almost divine position— despite being a political leader, not a religious figure. And “apotheosis” itself literally means elevating someone to a god-like status.

English

My turn to share my unsolicited (but correct) opinion on this picture.
Yes, it borrows from classical religious-style art— light, clouds, a central figure in white— but those elements aren’t exclusive to Jesus Christ. They’ve been used for centuries to signal authority, sacrifice, or restoration.
If you actually look at what dominates the image, it’s not Christian symbolism— it’s American symbolism. The flag, soldiers, fighter jets, fireworks, and the Statue of Liberty place the scene firmly in a national, not biblical, context.
And if this were meant to portray Jesus Christ, you’d expect the defining markers— crown of thorns, crucifixion imagery, stigmata. None of that is here.
Even the act of healing isn’t uniquely Christ-like in art— it’s a broader symbol of leadership, intervention, or restoration in times of crisis. Political figures have long been depicted in elevated, almost mythic ways using this same visual language.
At the end of the day, this is just political imagery using a familiar, almost sacred visual style to frame a leader as a symbol of strength and restoration. You can like it or not— but calling it a literal depiction of Jesus Christ is a stretch.

@howertonjosh @TCNetwork They must feed His lambs - not slaughter them.
English

@TCNetwork If you completely and blasphemously change the definition of “Jesus” then yes, Muslims love “Jesus”
English

The people in charge don't want you to know this, but Muslims love Jesus.
Islam reveres Him as a major prophet and messenger of the Lord, believes He performed miracles, and states that He will return to Earth to defeat the Antichrist. That's why Donald Trump's painting depicting himself as the Son of God offended the president of Iran. It was an attack on his religion as well as Christianity.
Today's Morning Note newsletter covers Masoud Pezeshkian's condemnation of Trump's “desecration of Jesus,” the Iran War's gutting effects on America's housing market, Colombia's plan to murder Pablo Escobar's hippopotami, and more. Read below.

There are people who say Jesus is a prophet and a holy magician.
Mary is more a prophet than Jesus is, except that her call is an innovation on the call of the prophet, because the whole word of God in all aspects left her womb as a full person, not her mouth as a targeted message to a people.
The true full Word cannot be written, there is no alphabet that can contain it, the books would fill the entire world.
It had to be lived by God himself for all to see. We have written witnesses and testimony, but none of those by themselves can achieve what Jesus did for us in flesh and blood. This is why He told us to follow Him, not just listen to Him.
And following Christ doesn't look like the brochure. It carries a quality with it that immerses the performative under the weight and pressure of truth, compressing broken ashes into divine potential so that the smallest person may love at a cosmic scale.
There is no book that can pressure you in the same way.
English

@RubinReport I feel like there are a ton of people speaking for Christianity that have no clue. It’s weird and sad.

@ptah31 @miles_commodore That's funny. I've never heard it that way. Must have been a city slicker innovation.
