@glorpinity @NAPainter_ Its literally in the game free for anyone to use. Blame everyone but the people that should be blamed, the devs. Maybe if they actually QA tested their maps, they'd find stuff like this 🤷‍♂️.

.@NAPainter_ It's obviously not injecting external software into your game do you care to explain how this is not 1:1 comparable or even worse than actually cheating and justify why you should not get your account nuked for this behavior? really really cringe stuff bro fr
Poncho@PorkPoncho

Footage of the Marathon players view when @NAPainter_ and crew exploited their way into the Compiler clear room and jumped a team as they were doing the Compiler boss fight on Cryo Archive. For clarity, there is not supposed to be any way into this room unless you beat compiler. Painter spent hours discovering a map exploit where he could "out of bounds" from the map and get into that room and jump people who were finally getting their compiler kills. He's on his stream right now gloating that he's spoken to a Bungie dev about it and they promised they wouldn't ban him for it so now him and his party are running it all night to ruin peoples compiler runs. @asalisbury / @Ziegler_Dev ....did someone from @MarathonDevTeam really tell him that he wouldn't get banned for this? Because this sucks.

@maevesfw @KatamariPossum Day 1? That makes it even more sad. Ppl can blame ppl for using it all they want, but this is on the devs to actually QA test their map. Even worse its been here since DAY 1

@2Calico @AngryArlo @MathRockSucked I fully agree with you here. Can't get mad at people for using what is readily available in the game. On the devs to QA test for spots like these 🤷‍♂️

one thing i can definitively say about the NAPainter clip is that it has turned out to categorically be bad press for Bungie. the whole conduct around it, full killing this team, the fact it was their first successful clear, it certainly doesn't make people want to play

@SneakyBeaver only did it once. anyone saying i've been doing it all night is lying. found the way in last night, but I only used it today and ONLY for this 1 clip. Also didn't talk to a bungie dev. was told by someone who asked them that I probably wouldn't be banned for it

“Non-technical teams are now shipping production code” -My advice is to get your funds off coinbase immediately. No. It’s not FUD. It’s perfectly sound risk management.
Brian Armstrong@brian_armstrong

This is an email I sent earlier today to all employees at Coinbase: Team, Today I’ve made the difficult decision to reduce the size of Coinbase by ~14%. I want to walk you through why we're doing this now, what it means for those affected, and how this positions us for the future. Why now Two forces are converging at the same time. We need to be front footed to respond to both. First, the market. Coinbase is well-capitalized, has diversified revenue streams, and is well-positioned to weather any storm. Crypto is also on the verge of the next wave of adoption, with stablecoins, prediction markets, tokenization, and more taking off. However, our business is still volatile from quarter to quarter. While we've managed through that cyclicality many times before and come out stronger on the other side, we’re currently in a down market and need to adjust our cost structure now so that we emerge from this period leaner, faster, and more efficient for our next phase of growth. Second, AI is changing how we work. Over the past year, I’ve watched engineers use AI to ship in days what used to take a team weeks. Non-technical teams are now shipping production code and many of our workflows are being automated. The pace of what's possible with a small, focused team has changed dramatically, and it's accelerating every day. All of this has led us to an inflection point, not just for Coinbase, but for every company. The biggest risk now is not taking action. We are adjusting early and deliberately to rebuild Coinbase to be lean, fast, and AI-native. We need to return to the speed and focus of our startup founding, with AI at our core. What this means To get there, we are not just reducing headcount and cutting costs, we’re fundamentally changing how we operate: rebuilding Coinbase as an intelligence, with humans around the edge aligning it. What does this mean in practice? - Fewer layers, faster decisions: We are flattening our org structure to 5 layers max below CEO/COO. Layers slow things down and create coordination tax. The future is small, high context teams that can move quickly. Leaders will own much more, with as many as 15+ direct reports. Fewer layers also means a leaner cost structure that is built to perform through all market cycles. - No pure managers: Every leader at Coinbase must also be a strong and active individual contributor. Managers should be like player-coaches, getting their hands dirty alongside their teams. - AI-native pods: We’ll be concentrating around AI-native talent who can manage fleets of agents to drive outsized impact. We’ll also be experimenting with reduced pod sizes, including “one person teams” with engineers, designers, and product managers all in one role. In short: AI is bringing a profound shift in how companies operate, and we’re reshaping Coinbase to lead in this new era. This is a new way of working, and we need to leverage AI across every facet of our jobs. To those who are affected I know there are real people behind these decisions — talented colleagues who have poured themselves into this company and our mission. To those of you who will be leaving: thank you. You’ve helped build Coinbase into what it is today, and I am sincerely grateful for everything you've done. All impacted team members will receive an email to their personal account in the next hour with more information, and an invitation to meet with an HRBP and a senior leader in your organization. Coinbase system access has been removed today. I know this feels sudden and harsh, but it is the only responsible choice given our duty to protect customer information. To those affected, we will be providing a comprehensive package to support you through this transition. US employees will receive a minimum of 16 weeks base pay (plus 2 weeks per year worked), their next equity vest, and 6 months of COBRA. Employees on a work visa will get extra transition support. Those outside of the US will receive similar support, based on local factors and subject to any consultation requirements. Coinbase prides itself on talent density. Our employees are among the most talented people in the world, and I have no doubt that your skills and experience will be highly sought after as you pursue your next chapters. How we move forward To the team that is staying, I know this is a difficult day. We’re saying goodbye to colleagues and friends you've been in the trenches with. But here’s what I want you to know as we move forward together: Over the past 13 years, we have weathered four crypto winters, gone public, and built the most trusted platform in our industry. We’ve made it this far by making hard decisions and by always staying focused on our mission. This time will be no different – nothing has changed about the long term outlook of our company or industry. And most importantly, our mission has never been more important for the world. Increasing economic freedom requires a new financial system, and we’re building it. The Coinbase that emerges from this will be more capable than ever to achieve our mission. Brian

The issue isn't the bot problem Twitch faced in years past. What's actually happening is a far more sophisticated practice top streamers are embedding their streams into third-party websites, sometimes as small as a single pixel. Every user who visits one of those sites automatically registers as a viewer, regardless of whether they ever intended to watch. This announcement doesn't address that. It's optics. Twitch is giving the appearance of action while the actual mechanism inflating viewership goes completely untouched because the streamers doing it are too valuable to confront.

A note on our work to combat viewbotting, from CEO Dan Clancy: There’s been a lot of discussion recently about viewbotting on Twitch, and I wanted to share an update on our enforcement efforts. Viewbotting is bad for our business. We don't benefit from it, and we believe it harms the creator ecosystem overall. However, effectively combatting viewbotting is challenging. As we deploy updates to our real-time detection algorithms, viewbotting companies quickly respond with updates to avoid detection. Also, our detection systems must be precise to ensure that legitimate viewers are appropriately counted. Today, we’re introducing a new enforcement type that we plan to roll out over the next few weeks. For channels identified as persistently viewbotting, we will apply a cap to the streamer’s CCV for a fixed period of time, on all of the Twitch surfaces. The cap will be based upon historical data regarding that creator’s non-viewbotted traffic. Repeated violations will result in longer penalties. Streamers will be notified when an enforcement is applied, along with the duration of the penalty, and can appeal through the appeals portal. While streamers will be notified, we will not make a follow-on announcement when we begin issuing these enforcements, and will not publicly share details about when and where these enforcements are applied. Unfortunately, providing details simply makes it easier for companies to work around our interventions. We believe this approach will help us make meaningful progress against viewbotting. We will continue refining our systems and expand when we apply these enforcements over time. - Dan Clancy

What’s crazy to me is how a win over a team that becomes ranked doesn’t count, but it does count if you beat a ranked team that is later unranked. Preseason ranked teams get exposed all the time. Which conference do you imagine this fact benefits the most? Hint 4-10 post season.

"Nebraska is 2-34 versus ranked opponents in the CFP era, which is only ahead of Rutgers, who is 0-37," "You're going back to (Mike) Riley," "Last year of Bo (Pelini)," Nebraska's two wins are against #22 Oregon in 2016 and #7 Michigan State in 2015. Both wins from the Mike Riley era.

🚨 JUST NOW 🚨 eBay just took action and BANNED a scalper who bought Steam controllers early, then resold them at a higher price. This guy has reported it, and they actually removed the listing and banned the seller. This is how you fight back against scalpers ruining it for real fans.
