It took me awhile to figure it out, but I finally got it. Chaim Bloom looks like a young Phil Leotardo. #STLCards

@NateDuncanNBA I have no issues with 5th pick for Zubac but Indy gave up Bennedict Mathurin, Isaiah Jackson, and three draft picks to land Zubac. That was the overpay. Zubac is fine but not that good.

It was clear at the time of doing the trade that the 5th or 6th pick would probably be a point guard. So Pacers would be looking to trade it now, without as much matching salary. Would they get a better (and cheaper) player without losing part of their core than Zu? I say no.

"I'm not sorry about doing the trade, I felt like that was the right trade at the right time." Pacers President of Basketball Ops. Kevin Pritchard talks about the NBA draft lottery, and his reaction to not getting a top-four pick. (via @patmcafeeshow)

@MVCMadness I hope they both lose all seven games, but since that is impossible, Sister Jean for the win.

@LizzyStarrrdust I worked at McDonald's for six years. I did meet my wife while we both worked there and even my worst days at my current job are better than most days at McDonald's.

Start, Bench, Cut: Buster Posey, Yadier Molina, and Joe Mauer. Three of the defining catchers of their generation. Posey had the MVP peak and championships, Molina had the defense, leadership, and postseason résumé, and Mauer had one of the best offensive primes ever for a catcher. Who are you starting, who are you benching, and who are you cutting?

Iconic is different than “best.” For me, it’s about the call, the stakes, the image everyone remembers, and whether the home run still lives outside the box score. Thomson at 1 feels right, but the top 5 is loaded. What would you change?

@notgaetti @baseball_ref @CodifyBaseball @theaceofspaeder @TheWARmonger_ @JessicaDBrand @BigLeagueDigest @EmSheDoesIt @JLas43_ @OfficialMLBRFC @sondraa Derek Jeter would EASILY be the greatest player ever for 29/30 franchises. No question about it. He’s the greatest shortstop to ever play the game, but at best he’s the 3rd greatest Yankee ever (and probably its fairer to say he’s 5th or 6th among Yankees legends)

Jason Kendall was one of the last true contact-hitting catchers. In 2004, he hit .319 with 183 hits and a .399 OBP… while hitting just 3 home runs. He also struck out only 41 times in 574 at-bats. A catcher hitting .300 with almost no power and barely ever striking out feels impossible in today’s game.

Someone took the stairs to the fourth floor today instead of the elevator. I checked the security footage. It was a junior copywriter, walking up the steps at a leisurely, non-urgent pace. I waited by his desk for him to arrive. When he finally sat down, I asked why he bypassed the high-speed vertical transport provided by the company. He panted slightly and said he’s trying to get his step count up. I told him that converting company time into personal cardio is a form of wage theft. The elevator takes exactly 12 seconds. The stairs took him nearly 2 minutes. He argued that he came in early so it didn’t cut into his hours. I reminded him that early time is still company time, it’s just unbilled. I documented “unauthorized biometric optimization” in his permanent record. Then I deactivated his stairwell key fob.
