@skchheda Really? If you voted too early and your candidate is still in the race, why should you be allowed to change your vote? You made a choice like everyone who votes on Election Day. No do-overs.

You should have to prove who you voted for? Like… your vote is no longer secret? That’s Orwellian insanity. We are talking about going back to what it was TWO WEEKS AGO. And she voted against it then, and that was before her preferred candidate Sara Rodriguez dropped out. This is just all dumb criticism from someone who isn’t otherwise dumb.

This post from @AnnJacobsMKE raises more questions: ✅Since she has publicly stated she supports @DavidCCrowley and there is more than a perception spoiling ballots would benefit her preferred candidate, should she recuse herself if WEC reconsiders? ✅Why would anyone who cast an absentee ballot be allowed to spoil their ballot? Shouldn’t that option only be for @saraforwi or @MissyforWI voters? You should have to prove your candidate is out.

Two noteworthy results from the @MULawPoll 1. Wisconsin is a center-right state. The percentage of self-identified conservatives (39%) is higher than self-identified liberals (29%). The challenge for conservatives is getting their people to the polls. 2. Hong, the Dems front runner is more likely to be identified as very liberal than Tiffany is to be identified as very conservative. As the campaigns continue, Hong's number of going to increase more than Tiffany's as the "haven't heards" gather enough information to form an opinion.

Our guidance on ballot spoiling literally said "Absentee voters can request to spoil their absentee ballot and have another ballot issued as long as the appropriate deadline to request the new absentee ballot has not passed." 2/

That was quick: Last week: @AnnJacobsMKE says China didn't steal any voter data. This week: Washington Post says China's theft of voter data 'no big deal'

OP-ED: WaPo’s David Ignatius calls China’s theft of 220M U.S. voter files “no big deal.” Trump’s docs prove otherwise and it fits the IC’s own definition of election interference. @jsolomonReports exposes the China blind spot at the Washington Post: lyceumnow.com/the-washington…

This is socialism in practice. Nicaragua and Mr. Ortega were the cause celeb of Democrats in the 80s. Now look what they've wrought.

@MollyBeck Ask yourself a simple question: would @WisDems be doing this if Hong had dropped out and was now struggling to get back in? Of course not. This is clearly a last ditch effort by the establishment for their preferred candidate.

NEW🧵: The Democratic Party of Wisconsin sent a letter to state elections commissioners today asking them to immediately rescind guidance that bars absentee voters from requesting a new ballot if their preferred candidate drops out.

@MollyBeck Perhaps an acknowledgement by the Journal Sentinel that the constant manipulation of the rules is one reason people have lost faith in elections would be appropriate here.

@wiz_political @SteveAustinWI Abortion is a moot point given the composition of the state supreme court. The Dems should actually be celebrating the repeal of Roe which threw the issue back to the state court--their playground.

Campaign finance reports tell you more than who wrote the checks. They reveal how a campaign intends to win. Francesca Hong isn’t just raising money differently. She’s building a very different campaign than her rivals. Beyond the dollars, here’s what the filings reveal. ⬇️

Every day matters! Days until: @MULawPoll - 1 Aug 11 primary - 21 Nov 3 general - 105 The Marquette poll won’t be as relevant as usual because it doesn’t capture the current landscape in the Dem gubernatorial primary. But there will still be useful information. Is @FrancescaHongWI pulling away? Is @TheOtherMandela still close behind Hong? Who are Dem primary voters second choice?

Well of course not. Glad they came to this conclusion. The same people arguing for the ability to re-vote were against RFK Jr removing himself from the ballot in 2024. But this is also the problem with having such a massive early voting window. So much can change in the weeks we allow ballots to be circulating.
TMJ4 News@tmj4

The Wisconsin Elections Commission ruled that early absentee voters cannot re-vote, even if the candidate they voted for drops out of the race. The commission changed the rule on July 9. tmj4.com/news/local-new…

@wiz_political That guy in the upper right has a sign that says "fake president" must be an election denier. Has the Journal Sentinel been notified?
