A couple of years ago I was on the Pecos river bank near coyonosa with a midstream engineer and an environmental consultant talking about removing an out of service line crossing that was suspended over the river. On the walk down to the river the enviro guy was talking about how we needed to take extra precautions because of an endangered fish. About that time a ranch hand pulled up and overheard our conversation. He looked at the enviro and said "come down here, I'll give you a hundred bucks for every fish you see" No money was exchanged that day.
