@ZoneIntel70349 @abc7chriscristi @BillMelugin_ Someone started the fire and high winds, low humidity and fuel loads did the rest

@abc7chriscristi @BillMelugin_ Nothing says climate change like a fire starting on a hiking trail

@victorlledo @TherealPeteyT @RogerZenAF Would you say that spraying water, cutting line, back firing etc does not do much on a wildfire without a change in conditions.
English

@JeffForester1 @TherealPeteyT @RogerZenAF Did not intend to offend or come harshly. It's a question that frequently comes up on fire brigades training , is counterintuitive but forests usually can cope with a bit extra of sea salt that will be washed out with rains, but not so much with fire.
English

@victorlledo @TherealPeteyT @RogerZenAF Salting the earth" refers to the act of spreading salt on the land of a conquered city, essentially rendering it unable to grow crops the most famous example is the story of the Roman conquest of Carthage during the Third Punic War, where it is said the Romans "salted the earth"
English

@JeffForester1 @TherealPeteyT @RogerZenAF Wildfire wise, that's BS. In the Mediterranean coast they use sea water regularly for wildfires. No effect whatsoever. What happens is that there are not enough amphibian waterbombers
English

@TherealPeteyT @RogerZenAF Fire is a weather event, like rain. Water on a wildfire is like an umbrella - might keep you dry for a while, but not for a big rain or flood. Dumping seawater on a wildfire will only salt the earth, make it so nothing will grow after. Armies used to salt the earth
English

@RogerZenAF A question, even with unlimited water, there’s still no way to contain something like this? Right or wrong? I honestly don’t know, but would guess not.

@TheDHTaylor No, I lived on the North Shore where they shot Home Alone. Lots of kids had bread bags over their socks.

@Morrison4MN Just an amazing person in so many ways. Terrible loss.
