#Pistons drop Game 4 in Cleveland, 112-103. JB Bickerstaff called the free throw disparity “unacceptable” in this game. Cleveland shot 34, Detroit shot 12. Bickerstaff said “the whistle has changed” since the series came to Cleveland.

@parmita There was no such thing in 1977. DNA sequencing was done by hand, running gels. The first automated sequencer didn’t come out until 1987, using 1970s methods. Next gen sequencers appeared a decade later. There has been constant progress, all of which “changed biology”

the last instrument that actually changed biology was the sequencer. 1977. everything since has been cheaper, faster, parallel — same readout. fifty years of moore's law on a dead measurement. we are so overdue it is embarrassing.

Loser Piston fans back to their smugness & dismissing the Magic. Felt bad for them after Game 4 but they absolutely deserve for their precious 1 seed season to be ruined. Tomorrow is going to be fun.

Ok, here's what we know: 1. Brad Holmes talks about trading Montgomery at his year-end presser 2. Gibbs says at Pro Bowl it's all up to Montgomery 3. Montgomery talks at radio row like he wants to stay 4. Drew Petzing talks like he wants him to stay 5. Holmes says he wants him to stay, but notes that Montgomery has to want to be here 6. ESPN reports he wants out 7. Montgomery makes fun of that report We know the same number of things we knew at 1.

damn, Trump's surgeon general nominee Casey Means is a transparent bullshitter even by the standards of the regime. Watch how she's tries to blame Chris Murphy's staffers for the fact he has her dead to rights on being dishonest and corrupt.

OpenAI CPO Kevin Weil says 2026 will do to science what 2025 did to software engineering If you aren't using AI to collaborate on research today, you're already falling behind AI is no longer just synthesizing data; "it is going beyond the frontier of human understanding"

And AlphaGenome is just the start: As applications of AI to DNA & biochemistry increase exponentially, the need for biobanks may paradoxically plateau: AI can simulate vastly more variation than the minuscule chunk of variation that exists in the extant human genome. Basically we will be able to speed-run evolution in simulation at 100x to 1000x. Hyper-speed targeting the extinction of all disease and increasing human and animal health. AI models can use the reference genome to generate all the possible proteins, explore expression control regions, tackling all of this simultaneously building internal genetic sense-control-act system models. AI can speculatively create function-improving mutants, both at the level of DNA, regulatory control or direct to protein. It can test millions of these per hour in linked dark lab testing (no humans). It can even duplicate genes, freeing one copy from functional selection, and let it go rogue to discover new phenotypes, the same way nature does. Evolution in-silico at 1000x speed. All disease will be vanquished, and increasing human and animal health increased in ways that simply have no precedent. $NVDA, $LLY

@IffyTheDopester @JeffriesFreeway true on #1..we've discussed the FB whiff rate for 2 years..actually asked him about when we interviewed him..will wager they spend a ton of time in the lab on this in rehab..and you forget he throw 97-100 with 3 elite secondaries..he will be back post ASG

I would say this..nobody in baseball has 3 elite prospects the quality of McGonigle Clark Rainer now add Jobe Melton you have something special..the issue they have done absolutely nothing to leverage a solid current roster and an exciting emerging roster..they are as active as Melania on a date night..

Heres the thing: The Steroid Era was allowed to happen by MLB. It benefited & did nothing for years. ‘98 doesn’t happen without ‘em. It was acceptable behavior until it finally wasn’t. So, we really will never know — in full — who did or didn’t use. There are prob players who used that are already HOFers (hi, David Ortiz). That’s why Bonds, Clemens etc should be in. Beltran & Rose cheated. There’s no gray area. Beltran w his trash cans & Rose w his betting slips. They should never be allowed in the HOF. Just my own opinion.
