My mummy has to sleep on her back, propped up at 40 degrees for a while. Last night I tried to jump on her, so she put a pillow over her chesticles & then I tried to sleep on that but she said it hurt, so I slept on her stomach with my head on the pillow #Helpful

Good morning from new mum Alice ❤️ She had the most peaceful, well deserved sleep last night, and it was so lovely to see her truly rest.❤️ All ten of her babies are doing really well, tiny, content, and already so loved. Alice woke to feed them a few times through the night and each time settled right back down again after she at also. She’s taking it all in her stride. Such a young little mum, and yet so gentle, attentive, and instinctive. It’s hard not to feel a bit emotional watching her, she’s doing an amazing job. It can be tough for dogs to come back into rescue when they have been in loving homes. Billy found his return to rescue overwhelming. But the welcoming committee is always there to help and we take everything at the dog's pace. Billy needed to make friends with Dawn and to have some quiet time before he was ready to go into the park 🐕🐕🐕

A price cap on pet prescriptions has been announced by the Competition and Markets Authority meaning pet owners could soon pay no more than £21 for a first prescription and £12.50 for additional medicines. And honestly… it’s about time!!! At Dogs on the Street, we are a registered veterinary practice providing accessible, free veterinary care to some of the most vulnerable people in our communities including those who are street homeless. Every single day, we see the reality of what rising veterinary costs are doing to pet owners who simply cannot afford help elsewhere. Our own veterinary costs are increasing daily because the demand for support is growing at an overwhelming rate. More people are reaching out to us than ever before,not because they want to, but because they have nowhere else to turn. What makes this even more frustrating is that as a veterinary practice, we know the true cost of medications at wholesale. For example, a course of antibiotics that may cost us around £7 can end up being charged at £50 or more in some practices. For many, that difference means the choice between getting treatment or going without. This is why today’s announcement matters. It’s a step towards fairness, transparency, and much-needed regulation within private veterinary care , something we have long needed to protect both animals and the people who love them. But more still needs to be done. Until then, we will continue to stand in the gap providing care, compassion, and support where it’s needed most. 💔❤️Poor, brave Alice gave birth to 11 tiny puppies 💔 After 24 exhausting hours in labour, she went through so much. We had to rush her to the emergency vet, where she needed three injections just to help her through. The toll on her little, fragile body has been heartbreaking, she’s only a baby herself. 💔 Out of the 11 puppies, one sadly didn’t make it. Our hearts are with that little soul 💔 But the others are doing well, and Alice is finally resting, though she’s completely exhausted. We’re feeding her every couple of hours to help rebuild her strength and give her the care she so desperately needs. We keep thinking… if we hadn’t rescued her in time, she wouldn’t have survived this. It’s truly unimaginable 💔 If you can, please consider donating to help support Alice and her puppies.
