@shane_pruitt78 I think most earnest believers get "church hurt" along the way. A leader wounds them deeply and unnecessarily. But they also see that the church is God's family, our family, and its glory outweighs its flaws.

It’s almost trendy today to claim “church hurt”… This is a sensitive topic, because church hurt is real for some people, but it’s also true that the phrase has often been used too loosely or inaccurately. Here are some reasons people may unnecessarily claim “church hurt” today: 1. Conviction is Confused with Hurt: When biblical teaching confronts sin, it can feel uncomfortable. Sometimes what is actually conviction from the Holy Spirit gets labeled as “hurt.” 2. Disagreement is Framed as Hurt: Not every disagreement with leadership, styles, or direction equals harm. People may equate “I didn’t like it” with “I was hurt.” 3. Unrealistic Expectations of Church: Some expect the church to be perfect. But, the church is made up of imperfect people. Disappointment can be mislabeled as deep hurt. 4. Preference is Elevated to Truth: Style of worship, preaching tone, or ministry approach can become “deal-breakers,” and when preferences aren’t met, it gets framed as hurt. 5. Avoidance of Accountability: Sometimes “church hurt” becomes a way to avoid correction, discipline, or spiritual growth. 6. Social Media Trends: The phrase has become more common culturally, so people may adopt it quickly without carefully defining what actually happened. 7. Projection from Past Wounds: People may carry hurt from past relationships or authority figures and project it onto current church experiences. Real Truth: It’s important to speak with both truth and compassion in addressing this topic. Not every negative church experience is “church hurt”, but every claim should be handled with wisdom, discernment, and compassion. The church isn’t perfect, because people aren’t perfect. Church is the perfect place for imperfect people to worship the One who is perfect: JESUS. So, don’t let the actions of others, or your own lack of understanding keep you away from being obedient to the Lord and gathering with His Bride. You may have to move churches, but don’t move away from His calling on your life.

@Roy_ForGovernor As a rule, the larger the school district, the more it costs per student to give a decent education. A small district is unlikely to buy police cars, have a chauffeur for the superintendent, or send the school board overseas.

I’m running to build a fairer, freer Vermont for everyone. I’ll lower property taxes by taxing short-term rentals and large corporations, saving working families up to 14%. My platform supports education reform, cutting 100+ school districts down to 5 to save $100M.

@StephenLimbaugh My church has all this but has guitars, flip flops and shorts. Just recently our head pastor has been getting more based and I love it. Come as you are. Dress code is insane. Leave my flip flops alone.

Does such a church exist in Christendom: -Traditional Hymns, choirs with robes, organists, and NO electric guitars. -National (but generally decentralized) Organization. -Not aligned with political “charity” efforts to import the 3rd world and teach them how to rob the welfare state. -Wooden pews, lobby doesn’t look like a dentist office. -Male clergy. -Enforces a dress code (no shorts, flip flops, ball caps, etc). -Bans incompatible ideologues from staff/clergy (Marxism, Sciencism, Universalism, Racism, Socialism, or “Rainbow flag cabals”, etc). -Rejects wackadoodle strains such as Dispensationalism.

Good Friday That head, which angels with ceaseless praise adorn, Is pierced with crowded thorns. That face, which our God with grace and beauty lit, Is marred by sinners’ spit. Those eyes, outshining the sun’s most piercing light, Are dull as sable night. Those ears, accustomed to praise from heaven’s host, Must hear his haters boast. That mouth, whose wisdom the wisest could enthrall, Tastes vinegar and gall. Those feet, whose footstool is this terrestrial sphere, To bloody wood adhere. Those hands, which stretched out the heavens like a tent, By spikes in twain are rent. That tongue, uninjured, shall cry from that cursed tree, A prayer of love for me.

In the USA, atheists attack Christianity because they see it as dominant and because they hate repentance. In China, Maoism attacked all religion because it could interfere with their evil revolution.

One of the things I think would surprise the general public the most about daily life in a university is how casually professors drop insults about conservatives, Christians, and white people and then play shocked when you call them on it.

@NormOrnstein I took my mother for a cognitive test, and after reviewing the results with the case manager, the case manager asked us, did I give you the test results yet? I thought that was hysterical, so did my mother.

@NormOrnstein I stopped doing the Medicare wellness BS. I asked the NP if the info was shared with any gov't agency and she said she couldn't tell me. Stop feeding info to gov't agencies.

It's sad that most Americans either can't see the wickedness and dangers of President Trump or can't see the wickedness and dangers of his opponents. God is our only hope.

@farmingandJesus Just north of Houston, where I live, regular gas varies from 3.359 to 3.799. I'm not sure what Diesel sells for, but certainly less than what you pay. We have refineries and lower fuel taxes (and no state income tax).

@SuitSheep @TomBuck I don't know Buck's meaning, but Gothard taught the Bible as principles (laws), not revelations of Spirit. And he didn't distinguish between following scripture and following his own applications. It was sanctification by rules. Don't call good evil. Isaiah 5:20.

@RockWallBibles This survey was taken in October, 2025. Charlie Kirk was assassinated the month before. His death may have influenced the results. We can pray that many, many of the newer Bible readers will continue.

Millennial males in the US read the Bible most frequently as a demographic with 57% reading it weekly. That’s over double Boomer males. In 2025 every demographic increased its Bible reading which correlates with record Bible sales. Why would this be?

@MrEncouragement @CherylSchatz If a pastor like JMac grows or changes in his understanding, and interprets the text the best he can, without labels, does that automatically make him a wolf in sheep's clothing? Or only if he ends up disagreeing with you?

What is stealth Calvinism? John MacArthur explains how no one knew he was a Calvinist as he kept all the labels out of his sermons so he could take his congregation into Calvinism without their knowing what was happening.
