It’s wild watching someone support Turtleboy for years, only to suddenly flip on the legality of his actions the second there's a falling out. What’s worse is the cognitive dissonance: they can’t even see that weaponizing the law against an enemy out of spite is exactly what the Commonwealth is doing to him. And in both cases it's wrong.

During the Gretchen Voss interview, with Alan Jackson, Elizabeth Little, and @BostonDefender present, Read plays a voicemail from John O'Keefe's phone that was part of non public discovery. The voicemail is of the 911 call when John O'Keefe's body was found. Karen Read and her attorneys used this non public discovery to taint public opinion of Jen McCabe. As Jackson says below, they wanted to make sure Karen was seen as "hysterical" and upset over John's death and portray Jen McCabe as "not". The team would later go on to give that same recording to Aidan Kearney and he would use it to further stoke public sentiment against McCabe as well as create new conspiracies and propaganda like claiming he could hear her whispering things. ABA Rule 3.6 regarding trial publicity specifically states "a lawyer who is participating or has participated in the investigation or litigation of a matter shall not make an extrajudicial statement that the lawyer knows or reasonably should know will be disseminated by means of public communication and will have a substantial likelihood of materially prejudicing an adjudicative proceeding in the matter." What these lawyers did is an abomination.

According to the filing: 🔹 The Commonwealth’s response discusses information contained in the impounded, unredacted version of Aidan’s motion. 🔹 Prosecutors claim that is why their response should also remain hidden from the public. 🔹 The Commonwealth says it will later submit a redacted version for the public docket. 🔹 The motion was filed by Special Assistant District Attorney Robert C. Cosgrove on July 17, 2026. So once again, the public is being told to wait for a scrubbed version while the substance involving Proctor’s communications stays behind closed doors. For a case centered on alleged witness intimidation and supposed wrongdoing by a journalist, the Commonwealth seems remarkably allergic to transparency. Journalism is not a crime. The public deserves to see what the Commonwealth is trying to keep sealed.
