@atulkasbekar @passportsevamea Atul, this is the same happy experience at Marol & Kandivali also. I've been to the Prabhadevi one with my kids, when they were 1 and 4 and recall the experience as pretty traumatic! Love how the passport arrives home within a few days! #DigitalIndia is delightful 💯👌🏻

The @passportsevamea at Kamala Mills might just be the most efficient govt office 25 mins in and out for the process of a passport re-issue upon expiry Paid for Tatkal but nonetheless Such a pleasure I vivid horrible memories of the erstwhile passport office at Prabhadevi which could well have been a modern day ‘black hole of Calcutta’ Whatever is the reason for this welcome efficiency at the Passport Seva Kendra, it needs to pls be duplicated across all govt agencies #CreditWhereDue

What happened if someone chiselled a nose on just one of the sculptures wrong ? Did the whole temple need to be carved out again? Yet, they did not get it wrong .. how? Carved downwards out of a single piece of rock , with no tools other than hammers and chisels .. .. detail of carvings and sculptures within the temple are not just exquisite , but absolutely precise and accurate in form and in geometry.. from top to bottom .. that’s a mystery greater than the mystery of the Pyramids of Giza… The system of mathematics in ancient India came down from our scriptures and formed the basis of a lot of our music ( Taal ) , art and architecture, .. our Philosophy was not linear .. but circular .. where the finite met the infinite again and again in concentric circles .. like how the Universe is .. The closest modern science now comes to it is what we call Quantum computing , Quantum entanglement . The theories on which Google has built the ‘Willow’ .. the words fastest Quantum Computer. The British changed our education system and made it linear. The colonizers did not have any understanding or knowledge of Quantum .. we did .. but over time of colonisation.. we lost the knowledge and Wisdom .. .. yes, Wisdom too .. for knowledge without Wisdom is dry , with the true and wider meaning squeezed out of it . No wonder that when the greatest Indian Mathematician of all time was asked how he solved some of the most perplexing questions that all the greatest physicists and mathematicians in world were unable to solve .. Ramanujan replied .. ..’My Devi comes to me.. ‘ #ElloraCaves #India #AncientMathematics #Upnishads #Architecure #Quantum #Willow #Wisdom #QuantumComputers #PyramidsofGiza #Ramanujan #AI #colonization #vedicculture #MyDeviComesToMe

On Wednesday morning Sinoj, who runs a lottery shop at Kochi developed severe chest pain while driving himself to a hospital. As traffic came to a standstill, he collapsed inside the car. Two nurses - Anjali Baiju and Ardra Raj, who were travelling in a bus, noticed the commotion on the roadside. They immediately got off the bus, rushed to the car and began cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). A passer by Ranjith, took over the car and drove Sinoj to the hospital. The two nurses continued CPR inside the vehicle until Sinoj reached a hospital. Doctors said he had regained signs of recovery by the time he arrived. Respect to the two sisters. God bless This truly made my day

Vipin Kumar is an Indian construction worker in Romania. One day, while he was walking near Nicolae Romanescu Park in Craiova, he saw a girl slip through a thin layer of ice and start struggling in the sub-zero water. Her father tried to reach her but became trapped in the broken ice. Without any hesitation, Vipin used a nearby sledge to slide toward her. When the ice broke beneath him as well, he plunged into the freezing water, managed to grab the child, and held her above the surface for nearly 30 minutes until emergency crews arrived. Both Vipin and the girl suffered severe hypothermia and were rushed to the hospital, where they received treatment. Romania granted honorary citizenship to Vipin Kumar for his bravery and for risking his own life to save the girl. Nowadays, social media is filled with hate against India, and Indians are increasingly being targeted. But when stories like this emerge, they rarely receive the same attention. They are not shared as widely, and somewhere along the way, these stories get buried and forgotten.

India set up a fully functional field hospital in earthquake-hit Venezuela, thousands of kilometres away, simply to help those in need. This won’t dominate timelines or rack up 50 million views. But let there be one racist post targeting Indians, and it spreads like wildfire. Humanitarian work rarely goes viral. Hate almost always does.

I was fourteen, walking home from school in Paris with my French-American friend. Summer was around the corner and the heat was relentless. ‘You must be used to this heat,’ she said. ‘Not really,’ I replied. ‘We lived in the hills in India before we came to Paris.’ ‘Hills? I didn’t know India had hills.’ ‘We have the Himalayas,” I had replied. ‘The highest mountains in the world.’ She stopped dead. ‘You’ve got to be kidding! The highest mountains are in America.’ That expression of absolute certainty is etched into my memory even today. Twenty years later, when I met her again in New York, I reminded her of that conversation. We couldn’t stop ourselves from laughing. So anyway that afternoon we went home, and I opened my Philips Atlas and showed her the Himalayas. ‘You know,’ she said thoughtfully, ‘ I’d always wondered about that weird name. I just assumed it was some Native American name.’ A few weeks later, in geography class, while studying the Alps, our teacher announced they were the highest mountains in the world. My newly enlightened friend proudly corrected her. ‘Actually, the Himalayas are.’ The teacher shot me a look that instantly identified the culprit behind this inconvenient fact. Then, without missing a beat, she recovered. ‘Yes… but the Himalayas are the newest highest mountains. The Alps were the oldest highest mountains.’ Case closed. At fourteen, I learnt one of life’s great lessons: The West doesn’t just write history, geography, science. It often decides it. If something is ancient, extraordinary or foundational, somehow it must have originated in Europe or at the very least be explained through a European lens. The Rig Veda became “Aryan.” A Middle Eastern Jew named Jesus acquired blond hair and blue eyes. Even Panini, at one point, seemed to belong to everyone except India. Now, apparently, Panini is Pakistani. Progress, I suppose. From ‘ that’s impossible’ to ‘it was ours all along.’ The script changes. The narrator doesn’t. #SundayMusings

Meet Mary, a police sniffer dog from the K-9 unit. Recently, a six-year-old girl was found unconscious in a forested area in UP's Sambhal district. It was a case of sexual assault, but the police faced challenges as there was no CCTV coverage and no eyewitnesses to the incident. Police managed to recover a gamcha from the crime scene. Mary sniffed the cloth, immediately picked up the scent trail, and tracked it through fields and forested areas until reaching the house of the accused. The accused, named Sandeep, attempted to flee but was later encountered by the police. He sustained bullet injuries and was arrested. Heroes don't always wear uniforms. Sometimes, they have four paws, a sharp nose, and an unbreakable commitment to justice.
