Six Republicans voted yes on the motion to discharge House Resolution 965 today. This was a procedural vote to force consideration of a bill extending Temporary Protected Status for Haiti. The six who crossed party lines were: - Don Bacon (Nebraska) - Brian Fitzpatrick (Pennsylvania) - Carlos Gimenez (Florida) - Mike Lawler (New York) - Nicole Malliotakis (New York) - Maria Elvira Salazar (Florida) The motion passed 219-209, with almost all Democrats voting yes and most Republicans voting no. Two Republicans didn’t vote. This discharge petition was pushed by Rep. Ayanna Pressley to bring the TPS bill to the floor.
