The guy apologized. Thoughts:
1) Bizarrely belated, but far preferable to tripling down on truly demented and ghoulish behavior. We should incentivize merited apologies.
2) His ouster was not “cancel culture” excess. He was the leader of a debating society who celebrated one of his former interlocutors being assassinated for and during his political speech. Way, way over any line of decency. He forfeited any standing to lead such an organization.
3) I would have advised against using the phrase “missed the mark” in this context, but I’m not sure this person is a thorough or mindful thinker.

I fully support deporting Zohran Mamdani.
I’m tired of pretending citizenship is a right for foreigners.
He’s not assimilated into our culture. Not with his habits, not with his religion, and not with his ideology.
The federal government should be able to much easier strip citizenship for these reasons.
And I don’t care if a single person views this as “authoritarian.”
Plus, this is not to mention the arguments that Mamdani — who has aligned himself with Islamic terror — had violations with his citizenship forms and application process.
I want a nation. Not whatever this is.
