China's electrification bet is paying off. Electricity now accounts for 30% of its energy consumption - around 50% higher than the US or Europe. With 1/3 of global renewable energy capacity already installed, China is structurally more insulated from rising oil prices.

Lewis' platform calls for no new federal approvals for oil pipelines, offshore oil projects, or LNG terminals However, Canadians have shown an incredible surge in support for oil and gas projects as of late, with some even having net-support from NDP voters themselves

Let's take a look at how his policies stack up and where Canadians stand He finds himself disconnected with Canadians on issues around oil and gas, and vastly disconnected on immigration, while finding some ground economically Read it here: canadianpolling.substack.com/p/lewis-vs-the…

"The NDP will start winning again because we will become that beacon to the 99 per cent — illuminating the darkening sky of these terrifying times with the energizing light of collectivism." Channeling Zohran Mamdani, who famously promised to replace "the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism." The NDP has a new leader. What does Avi Lewis's arrival mean for the party? cbc.ca/news/politics/…

Some conversations really cut through the noise around nuclear. Last weekend, German Energy Minister Katherina Reiche stood at Ontario’s SMR construction site and told us exactly what she’d tell the world. “The phaseout of nuclear was a huge mistake, a huge mistake and we miss this energy.” There is a lesson here for industrial economies. Left-leaning parties promised renewables alone could replace nuclear and natural gas. Germany tested that theory at scale — and is now paying for it in rising costs and foreign energy dependence. 24/7 baseload power — like nuclear and hydro — is the engine of industrial growth, the competitive advantage over our neighbours, and the foundation of reliable, affordable energy. While others are trying to rebuild what they dismantled, Ontario is already building what comes next.

Germany Energy Minister Katherina Reiche: The phase-out of nuclear power was a huge mistake — a huge mistake. We now miss that energy. So, the only way to secure supply is gas.

@Sflecce @tim_dunkerton Not opposed at all to nuclear power, but can we stop calling it clean energy. Like any process there are pros and cons.

Ontario continues to set the global standard for nuclear refurbishments. Darlington Unit 4 is back online four and a half months ahead of schedule and $150M under budget, completing the largest nuclear refurbishment project in the world and delivering reliable, clean power for millions of families. world-nuclear-news.org/articles/darli…

@CER_REC Seems to totally discount Ontario's near term plan to add 6000MW of new nuclear. Very strange since construction has already started at Darlington.

@WheatLife @simonmaechling That's probably spinach. Using lasers to eradicate weeds probably makes sense. On a section on of corn or soybean, not so much.

Shame on the Liberals for weaponizing the bureaucracy to poke Trump and the USA. Risking Canadian jobs and livelihoods. This quick approval just proves Trump was right. How foolish and childish our government is. They fit right in with Trump, the 2 are more alike than people realize. It is always about what is best for the Liberals, not Canada.

@DemosKratosCA This was not aviation procedure. Canada was protecting its domestic aviation by putting unreasonable hurdles against US companies. The Canadians were simply cheating. It's a shame the US has to use threats to level the playing field.

@sideen_dan This works for some crops like spinach (most likely crop shown in the video). Would be extremely expensive to use on corn or soybeans.

@atrupar Over 70% of the Canadian defense budget capital procurement has historically gone to buy US made weapons. Trump is going to fix that.

@atrupar Before the 2022 invasion, NATO members, led by the US, UK, and Canada, conducted extensive training for Ukrainian forces both inside & outside Ukraine, focusing on tactical skills, leadership, and modern equipment through missions like Operation UNIFIER (Canada).

Lutnick: "I didn't understand why they sent a couple dozen military people to Greenland. I mean, it made no sense whatsoever. They didn't send those couple of dozen people to Ukraine before Russia came in. So I mean, I think he felt they were just being provocative. Trump in Davos on Carney speech: "Canada gets a lot of freebies from us. By the way, they should be grateful also, but they're not. I watched your Prime Minister yesterday. He wasn't so grateful; they should be grateful to the U.S. Canada lives because of the United States. Remember that, Mark, the next time you make your statements."
