America’s “Favor” That Powers Its Empire U.S. troops in Germany are not there out of charity—and certainly not to “protect” Germans. They are there because without German soil, American global reach doesn’t function. Ramstein is the largest U.S. air base outside America. Stuttgart hosts EUCOM and AFRICOM—the command centers for operations across Europe and Africa. Landstuhl has been the lifeline for wounded U.S. soldiers from Iraq to Afghanistan. Even drone operations in places like Somalia rely on infrastructure routed through Germany. Remove that, and you don’t weaken Berlin—you blind Washington. Yet somehow the narrative persists: America is doing Germany a favour. That Europe is the dependent, the beneficiary, the so-called “freeloader.” It’s a convenient story. It’s also strategically backwards. Because the reality is simple: those bases are not acts of generosity. They are instruments of power. And they exist in Germany not for Germany’s benefit—but for America’s ability to operate far beyond its own borders. Take them away, and the question isn’t what Germany loses. It’s how much the United States does.

YouTube has introduced a new side-by-side ad format for livestreams. The main video player shrinks to make room for ads displayed alongside it on both desktop and mobile. While the ad plays, the livestream audio is muted, so viewers hear the commercial instead of the stream. Many users report it disrupts immersion during gaming, sports, and chat-heavy broadcasts. Viewers are also noticing more sponsored content appearing in the subscriptions feed. This is being widely viewed as a push toward YouTube Premium, which recently rose to $15.99 per month for individual subscribers.

A United 767's landing gear just punched through a bakery truck driver's window on the New Jersey Turnpike. Here's the part the media isn't telling you. This was a 75-year-old infrastructure decision finally cashing in. The chain was set in motion before any pilot showed up to work today. Newark Airport opened in 1928 on New Jersey farmland. When the New Jersey Turnpike was routed in 1951, the cheapest path ran along industrial land that was already developed, which put the highway within feet of the airport boundary. Every other major US hub has a buffer zone between active runways and public roads. Newark traded its buffer for capacity in the Truman administration. Nobody alive made that decision, and nobody alive is going to undo it. That single 1951 routing is why Runway 29's threshold now sits directly over the southbound Turnpike, lined with 40-foot light poles and active truck traffic. Now play that geometry forward. Wind shifted at Newark today. One change closed the two long runways and pushed every arrival, including a 350,000-pound 767-400 fresh off an 8.5-hour transatlantic from Venice, onto the short runway. Runway 29 is 6,725 feet. A 767-400's minimum runway is 6,000 feet. With that little margin, you cannot land long. The crew has to put the gear down on the aim point or the plane runs off the end. Robert Sumwalt, former NTSB chair, told CBS he assumed the pilots were intentionally flying low on final so they didn't land long. That is textbook procedure for a heavy on a short runway. The system worked exactly the way it's designed to work. Flying low on final to Newark Runway 29 means crossing the New Jersey Turnpike at the altitude of a 40-foot light pole. The tire clipped one. The pole came down on a Schmidt bakery truck heading to a Newark depot. The driver, Warren Boardley, got cut by flying glass when a 767 landing gear assembly came through his driver's-side window. He has been released from the hospital. The 221 people on the plane never knew it happened. Newark has been on borrowed time for 75 years. The wind decides which day the bill comes due.

There was a Rolls Royce dealer who used to text me every week asking if I was ready to pull the trigger on the on a Wraith. I bought one from a different dealer about a month ago. He hasn’t texted me once since then. It’s always good to have an opportunity to see someone’s true character when they don’t think they’re going to get a commission from you anymore. Like, someone who was genuinely invested in our friendship would’ve kept texting.

Germany is not hosting American troops. It is hosting American power. Amplifying it. Projecting it across three continents. And now, for the first time with real legal and political weight behind it, voices inside Germany are beginning to say out loud: Berlin could shut down every American base on German soil. A fiber-optic cable runs beneath Ramstein Air Base. It carries a signal from a drone pilot in Nevada to an armed aircraft over Yemen. Fraction of a second. Precision. Control. That cable sits on German soil. Cut it, and the strikes do not miss. They simply cannot happen. This week Washington punished Berlin for telling the truth about the Iran war. Five thousand troops withdrawn. A presidential post calling Germany a failure. The language of a tenant who has forgotten whose name is on the deed. Because Berlin can end all of it. Not the 5,000. All 36,436. Every soldier, every satellite dish, every signal passing through German soil on its way to a target over Africa or the Middle East. Spain tore it up. Italy said no. Germany has not moved yet. But it is thinking about it. And what it is thinking about is this: Germany holds the one thing that separates America from every other country on earth. The ability to project military force across three continents simultaneously. Take away the European staging ground and the United States becomes what every other nation in the Western Hemisphere already is. Large. Armed. And unable to reach anyone who does not live next door. open.substack.com/pub/gandalv/p/…

Another ‘conspiracy theory’ proven true Danielle Lammon is a former Allstate insurance agency owner in Colorado, in the Aurora and Denver area She confirms the skyrocketing insurance rates are because of illegal uninsured drivers getting into accidents “She would have people that would get hit by illegals that didn't have insurance, and then her own insurance company is having to pay out their own clients that were hit by illegals — Which is crazy. Think about that. Your company that represents you, is having to pay you because the illegals don't have insurance” This isn’t just Colorado. This is happening everywhere. When you see your insurance rates keep going up, even without accidents, this is a major reason

This is what an above average group of 7/10 American girls looks like. They're business students from a very good school (which already raises the average by a lot) They also have significantly below national average BMI. They gonna be top 15% earners. So, in order to looks and status match with them, you should be about 6 feet tall, be in decent shape, dress well, and earn about $150k. The numbers don't lie.

@thicc_stick_boi idk why everyone assumes it's Steam os. Most people aren't using Steam OS. Overall Linux, mobile or Mac migration maybe. I just don't think gaming would have moved the needle like that based on what i hear from ppl when I suggest trying Linux instead of Win 11.

A Tesla motorhome would totally change family road trips. FSD handles the drive, and everyone just relaxes like it’s a mobile home on wheels. You’d just stop at Superchargers along the way, ideally near parks or campgrounds, maybe even built right into family-friendly travel spots. It feels like the future of road tripping, especially with Tesla Semis already proving long distance electric travel works.

Microsoft says 32GB of RAM is the “no-worries” upgrade for Windows 11 gaming According to Microsoft's marketing material, for most players, 16GB RAM is a practical starting point. Microsoft calls 16GB RAM a new baseline, but moving to 32GB RAM helps if you run Discord, browsers, or streaming tools alongside your games. In Microsoft's words, "16GB RAM is the baseline; 32GB is the “no worries” upgrade." "That extra memory also gives newer titles more breathing room as memory demands continue to rise," the company said. What do you think? Do you really need 32GB RAM or more for the best experience on Windows 11?
